Had a routine appointment with the aneastisiologist (however spelt) to talk about my c-section at 38 weeks, nothing unusual there.
Then i saw my diabetic consultant who told me that because my blood sugars were under such good control that i would be having a 'natural' birth.
If babies tummy hasnt grown by 37 weeks i will be induced with only a days notice (have had problems with static growth around babies tummy over the past month or so) If babies tum is ok they will induce me on 10th Jan.
I didnt even think it was an option to have a natural labour when your diabetic because of complications, but apparently i will be on a drip for both insulin and glucose through labour and they wont let me have a long labour - if baby is in distress (babies born from a diabetic dont like contractions) then and only then will perform a c-section.
I was asked about my birth plan and didnt have a clue!!
it hadnt even entered my head that i would have a natural birth, even if i went into early labour i thought i would have a section.
I was told not to stray too far and have my hospital bag packed and transport organised
My little Charlotte could be here by xmas!!
