I'm being induced!

Thanks everyone for your wonderful replies! I've literally been so busy that I've not had time to update or anything. Also, sorry to Auntie2Mummy for not keeping you informed of my labour even though were txt buddies! Everything happened so fast that I hardly had time for it to sink in!

To cut a long story short, pessery was inserted around 10pm and very quickly started to feel slight pain. This went through the night until I was getting tightenings every 20 seconds or so and was in agony and absolutely fed up! By 4am I was desperate for sleep so I was given an injection of morphine which helped to a degree. Got a little bit of sleep but awoke around 7am with more pain. OH stayed with me the entire time as we had our own room, and mum came in to see me an hour or so later. We went to cafeteria and had a little walk - to this point the pain was getting really strong, but an earlier internal showed I was only 1cm dilated!

While in the cafeteria I had massive pains and suddenly felt sick - rushed to the toilet but it went off. Told OH and mum I felt really ill and wanted to lay in bed, so we got in the lift, and as we approached the floor.. My waters broke! I shuffled back to the labour ward, told someone who escorted me to my room and then checked my knickers at the waters. No meconium thank goodness but quite a lot of blood. Suddenly, pains got sooo much worse and I was given gas and air, it was so intense! I was examined to be told I was 3cm. Now this is where its a massive shock!
I laid on my bed and with every contraction I found the pain unbearable. I started saying I needed an epidural and that I couldn't do it and it hurt too much etc. After about half an hour of this, I'd completely stripped all my clothes off and felt the most intense pressure in my bum area and kept shouting 'I need to poo!! I'm going to poo!'. Midwives told me to fight against the urge as I was only 3cm.. She checked me within mins of saying this, to tell me she could feel babies head and he was ready to come out!
I was pushing for a total of 8 minutes! Afterbirth came 9 mins after.

I cried, OH cried and mum cried. Was absolutely amazing.
Noah Austin was born at 12:13pm weighing 5lb 2oz. He's absolutely beautiful and I love him more then anything already!

Been kept in due to him being premature, but worried about him now cos he's not feeding well and has now got a tube up his nose :(

I'm sure your baby will be fine he's prob a little shocked at being out so early. Hope you're both out soon x x

Massive congrats! Try not to worry about little Noah, I'm sure he will soon be feeding fine - might just take him a few extra days. Xx

Thanks everyone :)

Once I'm home and settled I will write my birth story in much more detail. Looks like were going to be in here for next few days at least because he doesn't seem to be feeding very well and hasn't pooed yet :(

Will keep you posted xxx

Congratulations!!!

Wow! Another quick labour! Sure they'll get him feeding properly soon and he'll be home before you know it!

Thanks for your well wishes everyone! Keep them coming, seems like we need them!

Still in hospital, got my own private room but unfortunately no baby with me as he's in SCBU due to high levels of jaundice. One thing after another :(

Chin up hun. 50/60 % of all newborns have high levels of jaundice! I'm sure they take good care of him and that he will be with you any time soon now!!! I'm thinking of you and your little one and sending you both positive vibes!

xx
