Hi all - sorry for this downer is anyone else really struggling with work?

I'm finishing early anyway at 32 weeks but I just don't think I can make it until then - I serisouly am considering going to the docs to be signed off earlier. I am so tired and I work for the Student Loans Company in our Welsh office and we also process EMA applications (grants for kids 16-19) which have been seriously delayed this year so all I am getting all day everyday is a load of abuse from angry parents and students about how long their application is taking to be done (even though it is mostly their fault for applying late and/or not sending in the right evidence). I work different shifts and I just don't feel like I can cope with it anymore I am so tired and get so stressed out, but if I did finish earlier what the hell would I do with myself?

Anyone else finding work a struggle? Got any advice?

I feel for you hun, i would hate to have to be gong to an office every day, i work from home which is great but down side is that as i am self-employed i wont have any maternity leave...poop... if its a big place with enough staff then go for the sickie

Aww hun, I know how you feel. I am still working and my position is well busy and stressfull too. I was signed off for a week when I was 30 weeks and managed to have plenty of rest. You might want to do that xxx

Hiya,

I bought my maternity leave forward a week as i was struggling aswell (4 weeks before due date) and it was the best decision i made. I didnt want to be signed off sick so used next years hol this year. Alot of people thought i was silly but i just prefered it that way.

If your body is telling you to slow down then do it. If you dont want to take it as sick maybe change your hours or cut down?

Hope you feel better soon,

Claire x

One thing I learnt from my first pregnancy is that it's not worth struggling on. If you need time off then take a week off on your own, if you're still not doing great then get your doc to sign you off again, You might just need a good rest but if you can't then it is worth bringing your mat leave forward, just because you can work till your due date doesn't mean that you should!

DO you know what - I think I'm gonna do just that! I'm going to take some time off sick and then come back and if I am still feeling the same will finish even earlier because this can't be doing me any good at all! Thanks for your replies ladies x

i hope it helps hun, i had just had enough so i was signed off sick 2 weeks before my maternity leave started and i havent looked back since :D
