i have a confession to make....

well i had my last one this morning... and thats it
im promising myself and leah that its no more from now on.
my morning one was at 7, and since then i havent had any cravings for one... i still think it's midna's comment that did it!

i bought myself a pack of 20 lollipops this morning and they seem to have made a huge difference to me wanting a cigarette because i miss the habit of having something in my hand etc.

ill update again tomorrow..

midna can u do me a favour?
give me some more comments like u did before lol, it seems to have worked!

Kimbo, so glad you've decided to put away the cigs. I myself quit cold turkey when I found out I was preg, and tbh, I don't have any cravings at all. :D I just remember that my babies health is worth more than a cig.

Stay strong, you most definately CAN do it. Smoking isn't worth endangering your wee one's health... just imagine how you would feel if your bub did get terrible sick. :(

my mum was told NOT to give up smoking when pregnanct with me cos of the stress of doing so will just be as harmfull , i dont hve breathing problems :D

i did mke dh give up tho lol

just saying , if its too stressfull to give up thew 5 , u may be best sticking t that , its better then 25 :D

oooo , my dh gave up with patches btw

My mom also smoked with me but we know alot more about the risks now than we did back the (god I make myself sound old)

Kimbo I found this for ya:

If you stop smoking during pregnancy:

*
your baby is less likely to be born before he's ready
*
he's less likely to have breathing problems
*

he'll be able to resist infection better.

These benefits are carried into babyhood and childhood, too, with a reduced risk of cot death, infection and chronic conditions such as asthma. Toddlers and children grow up more healthy in a smoke-free atmosphere. Giving up is worth it at any time in pregnancy — though the sooner the better. Help yourself to do it by:

*
giving up with your partner, or a friend
*
putting aside the money you have saved, and spending it on a treat
*
taking up something else you can't do at the same time as smoking — such as sewing, or knitting, or another craft.

ive been sucking lolly's all day which seem to have helped loads.
instead of my lungs rotting now, it will be my teeth :rotfl:

its hard at the min and ive been a bit irritable but it should pass in a couple of days

try to chew gum or have sugar free treats. Because giving up smoking can so easily cause people too put on weight. Still very worth doing though :)

tell me about it, since giving up I have put on about 3 stone, now hardly any of that is pregnancy weight

What maks you gain weight from quitting smoking? I know that's a stupid question, but is it the lack of chemicals or just the increased amount of eating?
This might also explain my rapid weight gain, earlier on in pregnancy.

smoking is an appetite suppressant (often used by kate moss etc) -when you stop smoking your appetite is no longer suppressed!

Smoking also increases your metabilism a bit, as yoour heart rate rises to cope wiith the poison.

Also people tend to use food to replace the fags, and get cravings for it.

I'm not quite sure how it works but extra weight is probably more attractive than grey skin and stinkiness, plus non-smokers have a decreased risk of disease, so it's still worth it :)

Hmm, interesting.
Personally, I'm not too worried about it. :D I can lose the weight after the baby is born, maybe get even trimmer and a bit more built while I'm at it. Now I have smoking out of the way and can breathe properly, so I won't feel dumb at the gym, huffing and puffing away. :rotfl:

hows the non smoking going kimbo? 2 more days and things will get better. I've been stopped for 3weeks now. not a single puff for first time in 10yrs and I was the biggest fag ash lil you'd ever meet. Im not getting any cravings at all now.

Im loving being able to taste and breathe lol how sad.... :rotfl:

Really though, hope you're doing ok :D

WELL DONE to everyone who has managed to kick the dirty fags

not touching another one
im an ungrateful cow for even thinking about smoking
