Hypnobirthing without the price tag

Hi Ladies

I'm not sure where I should post this but I'm keen to look into hypnobirthing for my Labour this time after a traumatic Labour last time, obviously I know it doesn't work for everyone but I'd like to look into it

anyway, the courses in my area cost over £200 which I cant afford

can anyone recommend any online courses or tasters or anything that may help? or any good books/CD sets?

I had a dvd last time. I think it was a Maggie Howell one if I recall correctly. It wasn’t very expensive. I would listen to it in the bath etc from like 34 weeks plus.. her voice was very irritating mind you!!

In terms of it working.. hmm. My birth didn’t go to plan, it may have helped me be a bit calmer than otherwise though I guess!

I've bought the Katherine graves book and cd, it cost about £15. It was supposed to supplement the free course at the hospital but there weren't any spaces left, so we're going it alone! Obviously it hasn't been tested yet but we've started doing the exercises every evening and I'm feeling good about it - the book is written well and her voice doesn't grate on me like some audio tracks I've heard

Have you tried contacting wise hippo and asking them? That’s who mine is run by. My first session is Wednesday evening xx
