If you don't mind me asking that is

Bit concerned (it a worrying day today!) because Midwife said no more than a stone and half during first trimester. I've put on 3lb. I haven't been sick so now I concerned that I'm not eating enough! I eat when I'm hungry just don't eat unnecessarily.

Please tell me you've all put on about the same to make me feel better.

A stone and a half??? Blimey! I was told about 4/5lb by mine, and no more than 2 stone for the whole pregnancy!!

Found this on t'internet -

At what rate should I gain weight during my pregnancy?
How much you should gain depends on your weight before you were pregnant and how far along you are in your pregnancy.

Healthy weight before pregnancy:
3-5 pounds during the first trimester
Approximately 1-2 pounds per week in the second trimester
Approximately 1-2 pounds per week in the third trimester

So it looks as though your gain is bang on, unless you were underweight before getting pg?

i have put on half a stone, but i only ate once a day before pregnant, now i eat all day :rotfl: my trousers are all getting too tight :rotfl:

Oh my God! Thank you! I thought stone and half was a bit much for 1st tri - maybe she meant over the 9 months but that sounds a bit little. I'm going by your guide it makes much more sense.

Erm..... so I best put that family pack of Mars Bar's down then?? :(

Was DEF NOT underweight prior to BFP! If fact I don't think I've EVER been underweight in my whole entire life!

Thanks Chopsie x

I've put on 2lbs so far. I'm overweight and need to try keep the weight gain to a minimum

Our fancy digital scales broke shortly after our wedding which was fine by me as I only wanted to know what I'd lost, not what I've put on since the big day :rotfl:

Maybe I should get a new battery today so I can keep an eye on things. I've hardly eaten in the last week apart from yesterday so I doubt I've put anything much on yet.

I've lost a couple of pounds during the first trimester, probably due to being sick. I'm really looking forward to second trimester weight gain though as hopefully the sickness will end soon
I think gaining a few pounds during the first trimester is probably perfectly healthy.

Now after reading everyone else's posts i just feel greedy :rotfl:

All this talk of smoked salmon bagels has got me hungering for them too! So good old google found this on the Food Standards Agency website -

Can I eat cold meats and smoked salmon when I'm pregnant?
Some countries advise pregnant women not to eat cold meats or smoked fish because of the risk of listeria. In the UK, we don't advise women to avoid these products because the risk is very low. The risk of listeria is much higher with cheeses such as Camembert, Brie or chevre (a type of goats' cheese), and others that have a similar rind, or pâté, which you shouldn't eat during pregnancy. However, if you are concerned, you might also choose to avoid cold meats and smoked fish while you are pregnant.

So indulge yourself!

Well ham sandwiches are about the only thing I can eat at lunchtime at the moment, so I'm gonna have to keep eating cold meat! If the official UK advice is it's OK, I'm happy to go with that.

I have gained 1/2 kg only! I am a bit careful this time as i haven't lost my baby weight since last time. and I don't feel hungry alot!
Regarding smoked salmon. When I was in tri3 I went to London to give birth there. I used to like to have lunch at pret a Manger and I used to have tuna and sometimes vegetable sandwich. so one day I asked the Dr about tuna as I thought we aren't supposed to have it in 1st tri only so she told me to consume it not more than twice a week! then I asked how about smoked salmon? her reply was (indulge) :) so I was soo happy and ate alot of smoked salmon as it's a favourite!

Am not sure if i have put anything on as yet, cos i seemed to lose weight before found out i was pregnant. I went off all food, but this week i have got my appetite back and eating like a horse. so should imagine have gained a cpl of lbs.

My last pregnancy i gained about 2 to 2 1/2 stone all in all.

XX

Iv put on about a stone because iv had to eat to stop myself feeling sick :wall:

I put on a massive 5 stone in pregnancy last time  Maddison only weighed 4lbs 15oz too  I only lost 2 of that after pregnancy so am still 3 stone overweight now so have to try be careful this time
