So, Gabriella is 6.5 months and hardly eats anything when eating solids.

I'm trying a combination of purée and BLW.

If purée, she'll literally eat 1 spoonful!

I can't remember weaning the other two that well, but I'm sure they ate more than 1 spoon!

It could be she's just taking her time. Maybe try mashed rather than purée, she might want something chunkier?

Bee doesn't eat much.

Half a weetabix is usually only half eaten and she still only takes a spoon of baby porridge (x1 spoon of porridge and x8 spoons of water so makes up a small amount of porridge). Everything else we give to her (BLW) so it's hard to know exactly what she eats? But it's not much.

Bee is small - 9th centile - but still having loads of milk.

We started weaning at exactly 6 months and for the first couple weeks I don't think much food ended up in my baby's stomach! Now at 7.5 months he's finally getting the idea and he sometimes even opens his mouth and reaches for the spoon voluntarily! (As opposed to tricking him into opening his mouth with a toy or making him smile!). He is now having 3 meals a day and an average of 2-3 ice cubes of puréed foods. We ocassionally give him finger foods to chew on (bread, watermelon, some nectarine or prune) and half of it ends up on the floor but at least he eats the other half.

I think it just takes time. Just keep offering and eventually they will eat more? Anyway, I just keep reminding myself that "food before 1 is just for fun" and as long as he's drinking a good amount of milk per day, he's got what he needs.

I started weaning both my boys early at four months. By six months my eldest was on a good three meals a day. We've only recently started weaning my youngest and already he's taken to it really well. Neither of my boys have been big milk guzzlers, and both have had reflux, hence the early weaning. So I do think that contributed to them taking well to solids.

If you haven't already, try offering solids before milk and leave at least an hour between a milk feed and solids.

My LO is 6 and a half months and we started weaning at 4. When we first started he would demolish an Ella's kitchen pouch or a bowl of whatever fruit veg combination I'd made. Now we are doing a big of finger foods and puréed stuff and he's fine with textured food he's just eating a little less because he's on 3 meals a day. He also seems bored and not interested in food and I'm so worried about him being a fussy eater :( even though I make him something different every day. Breakfast he will demolish though. He's also still have 4 7oz bottles a day.

Ive started weaning our lil miss who's almost 5months, I prefer to offer her porridge before a milk as that way I know it is washed down and less risk of getting stuck in throat plus then Ill know by how much milk she takes whether the solids are filling her up...its been a week of 2/3 x day 2-3 tspoons and she is still taking 5 x 6-7oz bottles lol....have noticed her dirty nappies changing in consistency lol other than that she loves it, after two full teaspoons (served in 6-8 chunks) she seems to lose interest and wants her milk lol....
