How long did it take for your tummy to go back to normal?

I'm 5 days post birth & my tummy has gone down a lot. Still got a podge but midwife says my uterus is retracting nicely. Every day it looks a bit smaller & flatter but I have been asked by a couple of people over the last couple of days when I'm due (mortified!). I was just wondering how long it took for your tummy to return to near normal after a vaginal delivery? X

After 6 weeks it was pretty good but tbh it took a year to get flat, by then I was pregnant again! I am well and turkey ruined this time!
Xxx

Haha thank you! 6 weeks seems ok to me, by the bill hopefully be back at the gym & running again too x

Yeah I didn't do all of that so you could be lucky!

Im nearly 4 weeks pp and my bump was enormous!

I now look like I have a giant ball sack where my lovely tummy used to be :( ... it has gone down a hell of a lot but gunna take a few months I think! My stomach muscles have really seperated, wish I was one of these lucky skinny women who just pop straight back!

I'm 17 days pp and I would say I'm almost completely deflated. It's just wobbly still which I think will only be sorted by getting my arse back to the gym! I think I've been lucky how quick it's going back but I still don't think it will ever be the same flat tummy again! I kept going to the gym until 3 weeks before my due date which was bloody hard work but has helped no end I think! I think we have to be proud of our mummy tums, we provided a warm, cosy home for a growing life and I think that's amazing!

I was still in the hospital after 5 days! I've got a piccie of me at around 3-4 weeks and I still had a big tummy then. It's flatter now after 6 and a half months, but I doubt it will ever return to it's pre-pregnancy 'glory' after split tummy muscles and a c-section. It's nothing a pair of spanx can't handle though!

Um, l/o is 21 months and my belly still isn't the same as it was before......

My lo just turned 12 months and my tum is still not how it was...

Mind you I never exercise, so that may be summit to do with it! Lol!

Your uterus takes 2 weeks to be entirley inside your pelvis, then the rest is just shifting baby weight! My stomach is almost back to normal, apart from being a bit softer, a stubborn linea nigra and a different looking belly button, and LO will be two weeks tommorrow :-) I thank breastfeeding and weightwatcher microwave meals hehe xx

My midwife said my tummy at 16weeks pregnant and i had my baby a week a go xxx

Mine was flat at 2 weeks post baby, ive only got about 4 lb to loose of preg weight , baby now at 17 days , but its all wobbley and skinage with love handles still. Waiting for 1 st jan as had a section before running and situps etc then im going to get my body back in good shape.

Dont forget it took 9mths to go on, allow yourself some recovery time. If your breastfeeding that really helps too

Me too due to my section. 1st January im back on boot camp and diet!

I'm not sure my tummy will ever be quite what it was but it took a few weeks to look mostly right.

Mines still a jelly belly and saggy 14 months after birth.. You're lucky if you get a nice flat tum back!
