How long can an HPT take?

Okay, so here is my question:



How far into a pregnancy can you get a false negative HPT?


I have heard of people not testing positive until 4 months, and some who did not test positive until 7 months.


I am curious if any of you experienced this problem, or if you know someone who has.

I've heard that people can get false negatives upto 12 weeks! Depends on how quickly your hormone levels rise! I've always got my positives before af is due though!

Some people do not efficiently secrete hCG into their urine, so even though they have high hormone levels they'll still get false negatives on urine tests. A blood test should give a definite result though
