How did you tell your oh?

With Katie my oh was at work and I didn't want to phone him as I wanted to see his face He came home and was shifting ladders and asked for my help, I said 'that might be abit heavy for me' he looked at me like this then I said in my condition He nearly passed out

i didnt do anything special my oh was shocked first time round as rene told him (the lady we were living with at the time) i didnt want to tell him on the phone and told her to stay shhhh but she did think i ment him lol bless her!!

I had it all planned.....I was going to let him go to work as usual and do some baking before he came home (I rarely cook - let alone bake!) so that when he came in he asked what the smell was or what I was cooking.....to which I would reply....'I've got a bun in the oven.....'

Reality: I POAS half asleep ready for because it was 5 days before AF was due....saw the word 'pregnant', burst into the bedroom, yelled 'switch the lamp on!' thrust the test in his hand and said 'What does that say? I cant read it!'.

I said to him after two weeks of knowing - I've got something to tell you and he looked at me like =_= and said " how much is it going to cost?" I said "well it depends on which way you look at it ---long pause ---- I'm pregnant". Once he had picked himsef up from the floor and stated that he wasn't happy he recovered with "well I must be pretty fertile then" with his stud status in tack he went on with how he could redesign the house to make room!

Think I might have to think of something a little more creative with inlaws though after swearing blind for the past 6 years that there would be no more grandchildren (in the beginning they knew we planned on 4 possibly 5) and they all have neat little sets of two and think I must either be super women or mad to have more than that!

What is it about men, the only reason that DH wanted to tell everyone last time was to show them all he still had it in him

last time I was in such shock after not expecting it that I had to phone DH at work, his boss was stood next to him and he was tryin to sound normal he phoned me back 30 mins later having taken annual leave cos he had to see the test!!

This time I showed him the 1st test and he couldn't see the line (eyesight is shocking) and has been shown them every morning since... he could see the 2nd mornings just!

aww loving these stories i didn't get to do anything creative this time - we'd been late night shopping, i'd been totally indecisive, and didn't want a new bag! james was in shock and thought something was seriously wrong all we did buy was a digi (didn't keep tests in that month as we were 'relaxing' and i can be a poas addict )

anyhoo, james sat on the bed, i came out the bathroom holding it, he didn't even have to ask! i just looked sooooooo shocked, happy and scared all at once! then james proceed to try to pour 3 small beers into one pint glass

When I was pregnant with my youngest son my daughter had been the baby for so long. We were scared to break the news to the kids not knowing how they'd react. Anyway I was about 5 weeks and we all went into town on a friday to get a meal. On the way home myself and Daddy said there was something new to tell them so we decided to play a game

They each got a question and a guess

The usuall are we getting a new car, are we moving, are we going on holiday, is it big then my youngest at the time said 'is it black' her daddy said 'it better not be' not in a rascist way obviously but we're both white

I think that has to be the funniest moments of when we told the kids

Thats so funny think I might do that with mine - although have been talking alot about babies and my son asked me outright today for the second time! I said well u never no and quickly changed the subject!

My OH said he knew I was pregnant, he bought me 2 tests and we went up to his, into the bathroom, done the test and went into his room with the test and nodded my head in complete shock.. He answered "Tell me something I don't know" Gave me a big hug and both got really excited.. Would definitly love to suprise him next time I think it would be lovely

Well, slightly different experience! It was Sunday 1st November and we had been moving stuff from my house as we had just got engaged and moving two into one and were actually heading to my friend who had a wee boy the week before. We ended up sliding on diesel on a roundabout and another car went into the back of us. Got checked out at hospital blah blah, muscles sore blah, and later that night mentioned that I thought I was a couple of days late.

Took a wee cheapy tinternet test and there is was, feint second line!! Of course there was lots of ........................... then off to 24hr Tesco for one of those all singing all dancing tests which confirmed it!!!!!

Scary thing was my mum phoned up on the Wednesday saying my sister had 'outdone me'. I was totally confused wondering how on earth she knew I was pregnant, turned out my sister had written off her car (not her fault and she healed fine!). She still doesn't know!!

With Sam we both looked at the test together, but with Toby he was at work when I tested because I couldn't wait any longer, so I put the digi in a pen gift box and tied a little ribbon round it and when he got home I told him that Sam and I had a present for him... I think he was expecting a cheap pen

i dunno how i will tell my oh if/when i get pregnant this time as we got two kids close together which is nice and he says he doesnt want a slightly big age gap between the kids we already have and another one but he has this wierd yes we are trying but he doesnt want me to catch too soon im like huh? put it off for a bit then and he is all yer but i dont want to i need time trying and failing for it to sink in properly when we catch so i know i really appriciate it men!?!?! so how would i tell him i would like to do something nice but i dont want to be all well uno lol i figured if i got preg before christmas (very unlikely) or new year i could wrap it him like a present, but there is a bog chance he will be omfg its too soon!!! but he said he would be happy if i got pregnant he is like 99.9% happy and sure about ttc and the other 0.01% not he says he is worried what other people would say and it will be stressful with 3 - unop general conserns but like i said to him just wait till your 100% then but he says he wont be untill plans are into action because apparantally he has been thinking about it for ages now- and he only tells me this after i have im contraceptive implant out lol!!! grrr x x x ideas ladies as we def are ttc he just has the too soon and omg gitters which i think is normal anyway

I did the test in the bathroom by myself. OH had said earlier in the evening "you're not pregnant are you" after I got to about CD 50 odd, but that was pretty normal to me so I told him not to be stupid as I didn't feel very pregnant. I'd been sick a few times that week but I have reflux disorder anyway so I thought it was that. Anyway, it was playing on my mind that evening so I went upstairs about 9pm for a shower and took a test before I got in. I finished my wee and washed my hands and then looked at the test. Sat there thinking OMG, that's positive. There's a second line there and it's not even an imaginary one. OMFG that's positive.

So I went downstairs and said...come upstairs now. He was like why? I just walked out the room.

Then I took him into our room and threw the test at him, he took it out and looked at it and was like...what does it mean?! I just said...I'm pregnant. He said Oh...and then didn't speak for about 3 hours xx

ETA: For those who don't know, we were not actively trying but not stopping either for about 8 months and nothing happened. I then got a pretty good job and we decided that we'd try natural family planning (no sex around fertile times) using a persona monitor. As it turns out CD32 is not, as you would probably think, a "safe" day Wouldn't change it for the world now though I was also seeing a doctor as they suspected fibroids/endo/PCOS or something as my periods were a mess so I'd convinced myself I couldn't get pregnant so it was such a HUGE shock xx

I tested on the saturday morning, OH was at work doing over time. I looked at the test, BFP, total shock, then MIL rang the door bell. I answered the door, legs shaking, white as a sheet and she asked what was wrong. I told her, and she said but Jake is only 2 months old!! About 2 seconds later OH rang from work and he could tell by my voice something had happened and i just blurted it out, oh yeah and your mam is here and she knows. He didn't get much more work done that day

With jake, we tested together (beautiful experience) and with my first son my ex was convinced i was pregnant, i was in denial, he ordered me to have tested before he got in from work. He was home about two hours before he asked if i had tested, i told him i had and that i was pregnant and he didn't speak to me for 3 days!!! (we were young and it was totally unplanned, i was 9+4 weeks when i found out) xx
