Ok ladies so I ordered some opks from ebay and they arrived this morning. They sent with then 5 supposedly 10mui hpts! Im completely new to all this so dont really know what im doing in terms of tracking of but wanted to see if I am ov after coming off the pill(ive had not periods yet).

I did the hpt first with very diluted urine(after 2 cuppas and had a wee 20 mins previous). Then I did the opk, from the same urine but i made sure they didnt touch cus i read not to let them.

Anyways..def within 10 mins the faintest line I could see was on the hpt. It looks grey ish but is so faint it could be pink, the opk showed the same but the line was slightly more obvious. I put them together, in the same place and the same colour.

So i guess my question is how common are one step evaps or am I deliberating over nothing?? ive tried to take pics but its so blurry you'd see nothing.

Thanks in advance ladies. xxx

Hi, I too would like to know more about evaps. I've heard the term I just don't know how they occur and what they look like. Anyone who can advise greatly appreciated.

i have never had an evap on either a one step opk or hpt so cant give any advice really...i have done A LOT of them though lol xx

i belive you can only have evaps after the time laps on the suggested time?! not sure tho are you late? what cycle day would you be?

ahh i just noticed your 4mnths post partum so maybe just a touch early for your cycle to return?!

my af did return had one begining jan and feb- started pill in between and come off it a month ago..had nothing since feb so was curious to see if im oving yet...does a faint line on opk mean anything?

will do another hpt tomorrow with fmu. it def came up within 5 mins or so but doesnt look like there is colour to it but it is so faint...but up against the opk the line seems to match if that makes sense? x

ahh sorry missunderstood your post then about AF not returning!

frustrating i know but you will have to try again with stronger urine maybe tomorrow or if desperate to know try not drinking anything for a few hrs to get more concentrated urine?!

goodluck hope you get some answers quickly x x

I've used hundreds of those tests and never had an evap within the time limit...sometimes if you're squinting at it in bright light as the liquid goes over where the test strip is you can see it a bit but if the line was there within 10 minutes and stayed there it could be a bfp! My early ones were so faint you couldn't really see much colour but FMU tests the next day were definitely pink x

thanks guys..like a complete idiot i have did another two so far today (with diluted wee- i drink tea waaaayy to much) and i thought i could see something ish but then thought its me seeing a line when there is not...compared it to the first one i did today and that 'line' is def still there...cant make out the colour though. as for me opk, what do you think the faint line (more obvious than hpt) on that means? ive never used then before.

im gonna do another hpt with fmu tomorrow and see- im being sent for several scans next week anyways because ive had endometriosis up untill bfp last year- was told it would be hard to concieve again-and i think the pains of that are returning and dr examined me fri and i jumped with a tnder tummy. secretly hoping theyll discover a little bean!x

did two tests this morning one with fmu and then mu after. the first one was bfn but had a line right next to the control line, too close for it to be anything, to me it looked like the dye had stained a line next to it, i then did another one and an opk, opk had an even fainter line than yest and the hpt had another evap, think it was prob after ten minutes this time and i did put the hpt and opk together so could have been that.

the trouble with these tests is that they are so dented it confuses me. i wont be using these again i dont think. x

hi hun, a faint line on an opk doesn't mean anything. its negative until its as dark as the control line, or nearly as dark xxx

I must say I've had loads of evaps - even within the 5 mins time limit, they are easy to tell because they dont have any colour, and sometimes look like a 'watermark' which is indented iykwim.

Also, if a pregnancy is far along enough to show up on a hpt, it is very likley that an opk would show as positive too (meaning the opk would have a line that is as dark as the control line). Only way to tell is to wait though - there should be a patience thread on here as we could all do with some help there!
