bear in mind, if you're planning NOT to have an epi, by the time you start screaming for one chances are it'd be too late anyway!!!!!
How very true! This happened to me, i had Isla the natural way with no pain relief in a low key birth centre pool, which is half hour from the nearest hospital. It was very very hard work but i lok back and i'm so glad. The option of an epidural wasn't there (they only do entenox and pethidine) but beleive me it didnt stop me screaming for one, thing is even if i was at a hospital i couldnt have had it as i was ready to push by then. I knew MW would say no, they dont do them and although i was asking for it i was being silly really and knew i just had to get on with the job in hand, which i (eventually) did.
This time i am like you Tillytots i am weighing up every pro and con and wont nessessarily go for the same option this time, but wont rule it out either.
You have a very mature and levelheaded approach to this labour and baby, and your posts are always interesting. You have looked at both sides, and i have every confidence that come the time you will know EXACTLY where you want to be. Your self confidence comes shining through and you will be just fine.
And on the plus side, at least by my stage you might have decided on where to go, i really am running out of time!
And i really must pick some names i like too........
