help needed with the downloading of photos....

Can anyone direct me in the right direction on how to put in some pics of my family.....I have tried but not very succesfully....Would like to introduce you to me small clan of 8 soon to be nine.....

Best way is to register at www.photobucket.com then you can upload your pictures from your desktop to their website. Along the side of each photo are a series of codes that you can copy, & then paste into a post....use the code that starts think its the URL code.....its a weblink and will show your picture in the body of the post.

Register with photobucket first though, then it should become clear.......I'm not the best at explaining but I like to try :cheer:

I'll try to talk you though it whilst on my photobucket account......


.....log in, and then click on the 'browse' button in the pale blue box under 'Upload images or Video;.

When you clock browse it will open up a screen that shows the files on your desktop/ your documents, you need to find where your photo is saved and double click on that photo.......it will bring a line of text into the white line box to the left of where you originally pressed 'browse' on Photobucket.

So then you need to click the button on the bottom right on photobucket that says 'Upload'....will take a few seconds for the website to take a copy of the picture and store it.......

Does that make sense?

Cheers emmylou.....Have a look......If you go to photobucket then look for grandma2007 album, you should find them.....I have posted three but they are huge...Need to refine this....

You can resize them in Photobucket too........they're not too big though hun, click on EDIT then choose to reduce the size - for pics to go in threads I usually reduce them down to 'website' size which is the 3rd largest size, as thumbnail & avatar can be a bit small unless you actually want to use them as your avatar.

Cheers emmylou, i managed to resize them but i still have a few things to sort out.......How do you manage to get all the fancy bits on your profile......I have managed to get a signature to work, but i cant get flashy bits at all.....See why i stick to parenting, im better with humans than computers 8)

You can make a ticker (like the 2 I have in my signature) at either:

www.lilypie.com

www.tickerfactory.com

www.daisypath.com

Just follow the instructions on the website to create your ticker, and at the end it will give you a link, copy & paste the link (the link will start either with or [img]) into your signature box ...avatar from a URL...i think that should work.
