I'm 6+1 and have red blood coming out. The EPU opens at 8:30, is there anyone else I can ring?

Do you have any cramping too? You could try a&e but they may tell you to wait until the epu opens anyway. Is it more like spotting, or is there more? Try to relax and sit tight hon, lots of women have bleeding in early pregnancy so fingers crossed. Best of luck xx

Sorry to hear this hun. Just checked my notes and it says to contact A&E if you have a problem out of hours. Although to be honest i'm not sure if this would even be any quicker than waiting until EPU opens?? Maybe it would be worth trying to call them?? If not htere is always NHS direct or your GP out of hours service (if you dont know who they are call your GP surgery and as it is closed it should give you the emergency number).
Hope all is well hun, let us know how you get on :hugs:

Hope you are ok sweetie... In notts the epau is quicker than a&e providing the loss isn't severe or you are not having pain... If either of those apply head to a&e xxx thinking of you

If you pop to a&e they will start processing you and the epu can take over when they open, at least you are there which may help lower your stress levels a little. Good luck xxxxxxxxx

Theres no pain, just light red blood. I'm going to call NHS direct

When i had my bleed i went to a&e and waited to be referred to emergency gynae and got took within the hour, was told by emergency gynae that my gp could have referred me up with a phonecall so failing everythin else maybe try that, would have saved me waiting hours in a&e if i knew. Obv its diff everywhere bt emergency gynae can do scanning.

Hope everything is ok sweets. is this about the time your AF would be? Xxxx

the emergency doctors are booking me in at the hospital right now for a scan, but it might not be today?!

My period is allways due at the end of the month- so its not the hormonal one.

FX they can fir you in today for a scan, hope all goes well :hugs:

I was given an appointment from epu two days after i wrung them and i wasnt happy with that so thats why I waited at a&e. You could maybe ring a&e and ask what the procedure would be, if you were to wait and they would scan you today then I would just go and wait in a&e rather than it may not be today. Ask them is there anyone in a&e available for scanning if not can a&e make referrals to emergency gynae if possible for a scan.

I understand how you feel when i was bleeding at 8 weeks the doc basicly told me a few blunt home truths and possibilities which werent very helpful - dr's can be very inconsiderate in the early stages. Good luck xxx

My scan is booked for tomorrow at 1.40. They have advised if the bleeding gets worse to go to A&E.

OH is going mad and wants me seen today. Going to call the EPU at 8.30 and see what they say :(

Best chance to get in with them is to phone as soon as they open, its usually very busy!

I know its bad enough but mention that you have pain and you may get seen a bit quicker. I did have on and off cramp but if they think that your bleeding they may say its too early to do anything. But stand ur ground, i told the dr i wasnt leaving until i knew one way or the other!

Some people do have bleeds and are fine hope it eases off for you soon.xxxx

My epu has a walk in system. You turn up and take a number. No referral needed. Maybe yours is like that too?
Good luck x

I was going to suggest maybe going to the EPU at 8.30 when they open - it is easier for them to fob you off over the phone than it is in person. You may have to wait but at least there is a chance you would be seen today.

The bleeding is now minimal, and seems to be stopping. I have to put a finger inside to get any blood. Really hoping this is a good sign.

You poor thing, I hope you manage to get seen at the EPU today and that all is OK!

xxxxxxxxxx
