Thanks everyone, heard the heartbeat it was lovely, mw let me record it on my phone so every now and then I just listen to it and have played it to the family cant wait for 20 week scan in 2 weeks now!!

I was 15 weeks and 4 days at my first midwife's appt and I heard it loud and clear but she did warn me beforehand that she might not be able to find it at all. I would try not to worry if she can't find it. I'm sure it all depends on how the baby is lying and probably how experienced the midwife is too.

my midwife checked for mine at my 16 week appointment (or so we thought a scan 4 days later told us i was actually 15 weeks ) Apparently my midwife wont check before the 16 week appointment as its hard to find it at the earlier appointment

i herd mine on my first scan as around 9 weeks, and i have a heartbest moniter so i can listen when i like, its great =) xx
