Had a cold for nearly 2 weeks...

Hi,

I got a cold almost 2 weeks ago and it's still hanging around - I don't ever remember having a cold this long!! I don't feel unwell but just really blocked up - mucus overload (tmi!).

I'm assuming that it's hanging around longer than normal due to pregnancy and lower immunity..?

i would say so i have been the same but left with sniffles now just make sure you keep healthy

I have had a blocked up nose since about 6 weeks pregnant x in my case it's just because of hormones creating excess mucus (the cells in the nose are the same cells as in the vagina so when we make extra cervical mucus (to help reduce the risk of infection) the cells in the nose kick in too and produce extra mucus in the nose). x it might be this especially if you've had no other cold symptoms x

For the first 20 weeks of my pregnancy I had a constant cold so I totally sympathise with you! Hubby had quite a bad one last week and I didnt even catch it, I'm so proud of my immune system, lol! xxx

I had a terrible cold for aboout 3 weeks and I went to the doctors and it turned out to be a chest infection so I got some anitibiotics to take, hope you get better soon x

Thanks everyone. I ended up going to doctors yesterday as started having gross mucus (sorry - tmi!) and I've now got antibiotics for sinusitis so hopefully I'll start feeling better soon!
