Guaifenesin

I went into tesco to buy cough mixture with the ingredient guaifensin and was looking for the tescos brand but couldnt see it so i ended up buying vicks cough syrup, was i looking for the wrong thing? is there a tesco brand that i could buy and is it better?

Im not sure about the vicks cough syrup. if you look at the ingreadients the only active ingredient should be guafanistein (sp?). if it has things like alchol and that in it then i think its supposed to counteract the effects of the guafenistein .

I used the asda's own brand cough syrup, cherry flavour cost me 88p. However i must admit it was disgusting to take but i did get used to it by the end of day 7.
I took 2 teaspoons full 3 times a day for 7 days before ovulation.
it seem to have helped me out .

Active Ingredients: Each 15ml dose contains 200mg Guaifenesin EP

Also contains: Sucrose, Propylene Glycol, Ethanol, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose, Citric Acid, Polyoxyl 40 Stearate, Flavour 9512, Black Cherry Flavour, Sodium Benzoate, Polyethylene Oxide, Sodium Saccharin, Menthol, Ponceau Red 4R (E124), Menthoxypropanediol, Water

ASDA cough syrup ingredients:

each 5ml contains: guafenesin 100mg as active ingredient.
Also contains: liquid glucose, methyl-4-hydroxybenzoate (E128), Caramel, Cherry Morello flavour, citric acid, saccharin, sodium, sodium citrate, carmoisine (E122), Ethanol, Purified Water.

So it looks like the asda brand has a stronger concentration of the guafenesin and less of the ethanol.

Thank you, think a wee trip to asda for me tonight then! i want to try it this month to see if it helps, i was worried my partner was going to be away when i ovulate but just heard he's home early
