Getting to know each other better

When I am not being a mummy, I am a Mortgage Specialist and have advised on mortgages since I was 18...and as I am now 36..it's quite a while!!
Sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience - sounds truly awful! Anyway, just wanted to say how happy I am that I am not the only one over 30 on here - was beginning to get a bit self conscious!

Fab idea for a thread. I'm becky and 31 and have been with my hubby 5 years and marred for 18 months.

After 9 months trying we were mega excited to find out I was pregnant last August. Had been getting a bit worried as hubby is older than me but I guess we had no need to

Last thurs 19th I have birth to our gorgeous bouncing boy Harry who weighed in at a very respectable 10lb 10oz. I ended up being induced as I went 12 days over. After a long 4 hours pushing we eventually ended up in theatre with a forceps delivery and episiotomy.

Tbh this was the best bit as I had a spinal and after that could relax and enjoy him being born

Before becoming a mummy I worked in construction as a site manager. I'm taking a year off but may end up giving up work as it involved a lot of travelling and I don't really want to have to put him in child are 5 days a week.

That's about it from me x

I'm Ileana, I'm an artist, 29, have been with Doug since 2005, married in 2009. Baby Vince arrived on January 5th (bit of forceps, bit of everything, but all ended well).

Have been the uncrowned queen of expressing, but renounced the title without any regrets, fat boy has been EBF for a while :D

I love art, would kill to be able to work more right now. Honourable mentions go to reading and SHOES!

Hi Girls!

I am Katie, 30, from Canada, and married to my dh for two years. Our precious little Kallie arrived on February 11th after my water broke when they called my name to go in to my doctor's appointment lol. Contractions weren't progressing so I ended up being induced. k was born face up with a vaccuum after hours of trying to get her to turn. We are ebf after 5 weeks of topping up (was scared in to doing top ups as she lost "too much" weight so I thought I was starving her, but wish I had given it another day or two)... However she now refuses the bottle! I am finding motherhood much harder than I expected, but love it! Find myself doing lots of things I always said I wouldn't do ie wearing her for naps. I work as an engineer but I am on mat leave for a year :)

Im Mel  Im 24 with a 20 month old little girl. Im currently volunteering at a local preschool and will be doing an access course in 2013 with the hope of going on to children's nursing. I also graduated from a photography degree last June.

I didn't get the birth experience i had hoped for and so developed post traumatic stress and also pnd. I can happily say Im out the other end of all that now.

I like to pop in here every now and then and help when i can :)

I'm Roo, 34, and mummy to my beautiful boy jake who is nearly 11 months old.

I was induced a day before my due date due to high blood pressure and excess fluid. Lo finally arrived the day after his due date after a difficult labour, 3 hours of pushing, and ventouse. Jake is ff, and is a big boy!!! We have been doing blw with him and he loves his food.

I am returning to work 2 days a week in 3 weeks and am not really looking forward to it.

I don't post very often but like to give advice if I can.

Hi ladies!

I'm tasha, 23 from west London (near heathrow)...actually just moved so living in staines now (that place Ali G comes from)! Well, I'm a mummy to one handsome little boy, Ollie. Although I didn't get my relaxing in and out birth (had emergency c-section) and have had trouble breastfeeding-due to the fact he was tongue-tied and they told me to top him up as he lost too much weight, he is my world and will do everything for him!

I have been with my OH going on 3 years. He is the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. And will be getting married in 2 years...although he is yet to propose! :)

I work as a sports technician/teaching assistant in a secondary school, I absolutely love my job and all the people I work with. But still so anxious as to when I will have to return and leave LO! But that won't be til September!

I'm still a big kid at heart and love all Disney films! Love country music mostly but listen to anything!

I'm really enjoying motherhood, I've been around babies since I was 13 so it hasn't come a shock to me -just wish bf was easier! :)

There's a few of us if we went more central, think it would be better when LOs slightly bigger as I couldn't manage the tube yet

I used to live near Staines (shepperton) only moved to Brighton 6 years ago! I'd definitely be up for a meet at some point when the babies are a bit bigger! My family still live up that way Walton on Thames so I am up there quite regularly! Xx

Oh wow...few quite close then! Yea deco when they're a bit more manageable! :)

Hello my name is Marley, I'm 24 and mama to beautiful Niah.

I'm originally from Northamptonshire (where I currently live) however I've spent the majority of my young adult life living in Camden, Islington and Wimbledon.

I pine everyday to be whisked back to London. OH is from Surrey and wants to stay in northamptonshire as you get more for your money apparently , but I'm bored shitless lol.

I've spent most of my life studying and worked for literally 18 months after university and then popped the little sprog out. I worked as a student teacher at secondary and primary schools in north London teaching Drama.

I was about to start my PGCE at iOE September just gone but LO was born , so I am now applying this September to start in September 2013. She was definitely worth it and I'm glad I had her now as I'm now determined, more than ever to continue to achieve my goals.

I'm lucky as my oh is a tree surgeon and runs his own business so he will be supporting me until I go back to uni.

I'm a closet gypsy and move every 6 months I don't even realize I do it, It just happens. I love to travel and be adventurous , OH is taking some time off and we plan to take LO on Our travels around the world. Everyone says we're mad, I'm sure our baby will be mad ! X

Apologies for any typos!

Hi Ladies!

I'm Emma, 27 next month and live in Lincolnshire by the seaside. I have been with my OH for 4.5 years.

We have a beautiful baby girl called Chloe who is 15 weeks on Sunday. I was induced on my due date as everyone thought she was going to be a 10lb plus baby. She was born a day later on the 15th weighing 8lbs 6ozs :) My induction was hideous but as soon as active labour (and epidural) had kicked in I had the most amazing experience and can't wait to do it again. I was adamant I would ebf but due to Chloe's reflux and lazy latching I am having to express to feed her, I still offer boob at each feed though.

I love reading though haven't had a chance to pick a book up since I was in hospital. I love all kinds of music, my favourite band is Dropkick Murphys. I also love animals and have a pet rabbit and tropical fish.

We're about 25 miles away but quite often take a day trip there because the roads are so scenic :)
