Getting to know each other better

Its great hearing about you all, esp the newbies!!

I'm Michelle, I'm 28, my OH is James, he's 29. We have a daughter age 7 and baby Kayden is 6 m/o today. We live in the East End of Glasgow, its a rough area, with alot of crime, but we live in one of the nicer areas, where eldest LO can go out & play. We'd like to move abroad, but I suppose it never happens.

I am a civil servant, work for the Scottish Goverment, within the Motorways Dept, I deal with compensation claims for ppl who have been in a crash or car damaged on the motorway network, i'm also a personal assistant, which involves alot of running about. I love my job, and I miss it, I dont miss getting up early, traveling to the city centre & all the other issues with working. I'm due to go back in 2 months but its all on hold with LO's severe reflux, as he cant be left in a nursery with his blue spells.

My OH is a computer engineer, he works from home mostly. We've just moved from a tennement (6 in a block) to a semi-detached house with garden & its great. But we're still settling in, its very stressful.

xxxxxxxx

I'm niky and my Oh is Alex and Were both 26 from slough unfortunately. Our little boy is Leandro and was Was born on 7/12/11 which was 9 days before out due date and 5 days before I was meant to be induced. He was a chunks 8lbs 11ozs and to this day gets referred to As a big baby. He was the light to a very dark year for me last yehar as I lost my dad in June (he would have been his first grandchild and i told him the day we had to switch Of his machines as i was unmarried and scared but we buried him with a scan picture). So 2011 was the worst year and the best year of my life.

Me and Alex are getting married in Sept ( had to change the date due to hall double booking should have been getting married on 7th july) so been busy planning and returning to.work in Aug at tesco and uni in Sept to complete my final year nursing xxx

Nice idea :)

Well I'm Russian and have a funny name, so I don't mind if no one will remember it :) it's Olya. My husband is English. I'm 26 and he is 41. I moved to England about five years ago to be with him and I absolutely love it here!

I'm in IT, though I have only worked for three months after finishing Uni before I went onto maternity. And yes, I got a job while 5 months preggers. It does happen!! :) (I am still wondering if my boss really didn't mind or if he was blind!!)

Anyway, my little boy Georgie is almost six months now and he is a very bad sleeper! I am lucky if I get three hours of uninterrupted sleep. Oh well. I love him to bits anyway :)

Xx

I've read about a few people wanting to meet up, it would be such a lovely idea to meet you all as we chat on here so much. Another forum I go on do this once a year, they book out a campsite! Im not going as i don't use that forum much but always thought it was a great idea for those who wanted to meet but live too far plus the kids and partners could all come! Maybe something to consider in the private area of the forum, Id be up for it anyway!

Hi everyone!

I am Anne-Marie and my OH is Jeremy. We have a 3 week 5 day old called Ella and a 4 and a half year old called Imogen. Imogen is from a previous relationship. She still sees her biological father, but she also thinks of Jeremy as her Dad, and will often tell people how lucky she is to have 2 dads!

I am a primary school teacher, and will be taking a full year off- so I will be returning in February 2013. I already can't imagine how horrid it will be having to leave my little girls, but luckily it's not something I need to worry about just yet! Plus, I really can't moan as as of September last year (2011) I have only worked part time- 2 days a week!!!

At 14 weeks pregnant, I found from a CVS performed in Harley street that Ella had downs syndrome. Initially I worried. Then I get my head around it, but was concerned about what I may be faced with when she arrived!
Once Ella arrived, she has made me realise that infact it really isn't something to be scared of! She is absolutely amazing! I am completely smitten!!!

Anyway - I love this idea! I hope we all become much closer with one another! Xxx

awesome pinky, i saw amy lee at download festival 2007 but wasnt too impressed. best gig ever so far were Rammstein, they put on a hell of a show.

I used to love Lacuna Coil too. Saw them once. I used to always go to gigs, dunno what's happened!

This is a very good idea!
I'm Iriki, Irish but live in NZ where my hubby and I have a dairy farm with getting on for 900 cows on 350Ha, so I'm out in the middle of nowhere, but loving it!! I have a little by who's 3 and a 1/2 and our. Newest addition was born on 20th Dec, after a nice and short drug free labour. We had a water birth, and I cannot recommend them enough...it was one of the nicest experiences of my life:)
I'm another BFing mommy and loving it and have been back at work on the farm since the little lady was 7 weeks old. And that's about it really :)

wow pinky i love lacuna coil too but havent been lucky enough to see them yet

iriki it must be really cool living on a farm in nz!

Hi Bev, I love it here.
We live between a mountain and the beach and can go skiing in the morning and surfing in the evening..... It's sheer heaven!
Meant to mention that I'm an "older" mum as well..was 35 having my son and 38 when Chloe swam into the world :)

omg that sounds so awesome, i live by the beach but its really commercial here and a bit lame n dirty/scruffy

We can go to the beach here and be the only people on it even in the middle of Summer :) I definitely wouldn't want to live anywhere else... Although I do still really miss M & S!!!!

Great idea for a thread!
I'm Nicola, 37, and live in Hertfordshire. Been married to my wonderful husband for 8 and half years. He's 44. We have a beautiful daughter, Emily, who is nine weeks old today! As 'older parents', I think she will be our one and only 'cos I don't think I have the energy for another! :). Motherhood is certainly proving to be tougher than I had anticipated, but then I look at my beautiful little girl smiling up at me and it is all so worth it!
I have had a range of jobs over the years, and never really found the one that was right for me. When I first left uni, I worked in accounts, then marketing, then retrained as a primary school teacher and did that for 5 years. Then went back to uni and did research for a while. I started a new job working in research for the NHS the day I finally discovered I was pregnant with Emily. Now I am going to be a SAHM! Hopefully I have finally found the right job for me!
In my spare time (not that I have any of that now!) I love traveling, reading, cooking, birdwatching and long country walks. That's me! :)
