ho everyone not been on in ages as we have had so much going on
Went for our follow up scan for the baby beong so small last Thursday and we got reffered to the fetal medicine unit for an appointment and another scan on the Friday,
the baby is only measuring at 22 weeks which is very small and we have been told that there are 4 reasons this could be
1, the placenta isnt working properly
2, that she isnt growing because there is very very little fluid in there
3, I had picked up a viral infection along the way and she caught it
and 4, which is the least likely but still a chance, a chromosome problem which will either be edwards or pacauds syndrome they have ruled out down syndrome as the baby would still normally be the correct size on a scan
the first that they want to test are the chromosome problems as she wont survive any of them so we chould hopefully get they results tomorrow and if it isnt that it is then the vial infection and if its not that it will be a placenta problem and they will deliver the baby.
has anyone had any of these problems in a pregnancy or know someone who has, please be honest even if its not great news
thanks xxx
