I was doing some research on google into opks and came across this story, all long with a few others saying the same thing so i though id share as i know some of us are having a few frustrating problems with them -

'The month I conceived, I never got a surge on the OPK, but I was BBT and knew I was ovulating, so we BD and here I am 32 weeks pregnant. OPKs aren't for all women, and just because it isn't working doesn't mean you're not ovulating. Trust your body, if you feel like you are o, then you probably are. If it doesn't work this month, combine using OPKs and BBT. It will be like having a back up if one's not working properly'

So after reading these ive decided im going to carry on with them this month because ive got them but im not going to worry about them, then next month im not even going to bother x x

i'm very lucky in that my cycles seem to have become nice and regular and i always seem to ovulate around cd12.....i can feel it too. Got used to what to look out for. I use CBD OPKs with the smiley faces just to confirm my thoughts!! I use them from day 9 to 12 so usually a pack lasts me a couple of months xx

I wanted to use them to see whether my cycles had gone back to how they were before my mmc but all the lines then no lones are so confusing :(
So ive decided im not going to waste anymore money on them, ive been thinking aslong as we bd regulary then it will happen when the times right :) regardless whether ive got a stick in my hand to say ive ov'ed x x

That's how I treated this month xx

exactly...it's the little spermies that make u pregnant after all and so long as there's plenty of those swimming about most of the time...then you're off!! :)

i'm using OPKs as contraception now..he he...although I have a feeling OH wants to still get me pregnant and doesn't care whether he marries me the size of a house....lol xx

Aww samsgirl that's such a nice place to be in!! Xx

yeah, he is lovely.......i'm very lucky...

I have a feeling 2011 gonna be an amazing one for me.....fingers crossed!!

Diet starts tomorrow........to get me down to a healthy baby making weight..

Then gonna go and try some dresses on at the end of the month!! :) x

Ooh yay! Got any designs in mind? My dress ended up totally different to anything I'd planned hehe! Have you treated yourself to some of the wedding mags? I was addicted. Xx

my brother bought me a subscription to brides magazine for xmas....lol..

i have an idea what i would like, but have no idea what will suit me really....just gonna try loads of different styles on and see.

quite fancy a little belero type jacket with high collars for actual service and photos...with it being a winter wedding...and then all my hair up and tussled with a HUGE bling tiara...ha ha

xx

what a relief to read this M2A! Been sending myself a bit mad today getting stressed over OPKs, have tried everything from dehydrating myself to try and get a more accurate reading to peeing in a tub and leaving it to get to room temperature only to find the cat about to drink it lol!!!!!!! Worried myself that I ovulated really early as I was stupid enough to start packs during AF and got lines then! Now not getting lines at all  Are you still finding yours confusing?x x x

I just keep thinking the lines are going to go darker once there is one there then the next one i do theres nothing, they are just so confusing!:wall2: Im definetly not using them next month!
Im due to ov wednesday (going off my previous cycles) but my cycles might still be abit all over the place so we will just have to see, we are just going to keep bding and see what happens :) x x

Gah, I'm another one who will be ditching the opks next cycle, if we don't get our BFP that is. Seems I have had abbout 4 dark ones in a row so counted back 14 days and landed on CD19!!! Started thinking that my serious backache and general feeling rotten could be pregnancy symptoms then reminded myself that my cycles can't possibly be that kind. ;)

I'm not quite ditching the opk's

Going to try CBD's for 1 month

Ov'd really early this month CD13 :(

Ye, i've never had a cycle as short as 28 days before!

but hope i do ov early again next month :)

i ov'd day 12/13 last month and cycle was exactly 28 days this time :)

Oooh samsgirl, i really hope mine is the same this month, nice and short with less waiting around :)

oh yeah....i'm like an old penny me...or more like a bad smell...ha ha x

Lol samsgirl!
I said to oh I was all over this forum like a bad suit. Pmsl!

Hi Ladies,

Hope you don't mind me poking my nose in here.

The month I used OPK's I never got a 'positive' reading, one day the line was darker than previous days, then the next day it faded again so I guessed that was my surge.
I was convinced that we were out that month as OH was away when I ovulated. We had BD'd 2 days before my 'positive' OPK.
Later that month, AF arrived but then went again a day later which was odd so I did a HPT and was pregnant!
I guess what I'm trying to say is that you may not get a very dark line on your OPK but that could still mean you've had your surge like I did.

Good luck ladies. Sending lots of baby dust your way.

xxx
