Hi All,

I'm a bit worried because there are some days I just have to skip taking my tablet because of how sick it makes me feel :(
For a start I can't swallow then, so have to chew then a bit and then swallow them.

Do you think missing taking it from time to time might have a bad effect on the baby?

Will I have to take them throughout the whole pregnancy?

Heya!

From what I have read you can stop taking folic acid after 12 weeks.... I am still taking multivits with folic acid because I have issues with my iron levels and folic acid helps apparently.

BUT.... I do forget to take them at least once a week. As long as you are eating a fairly balanced diet I am sure that LO will take whatever it needs from you. x

I stopped taking folic acid after 13wks, that's what my mw said to do. And I don't take any pregnancy vits at all x

I'm still taking my vitamin tablets which have folic acid in them - I wouldn't have except for my mw advised me to keep taking them so I'm following her advice. I take mine with a glass of water before I go to bed so that I'm not awake for the sickly feeling lol. I had issues taking my tablets early on due to severe ms which meant I kept bringing them back up as they made me feel worse and this is what worked for me! But I'm sure missing a day or 2 won't do any harm xxxx

My Pregnacare made me baulk and feel even more horribly sick when I took them in the morning. So I started taking them before bed, and I was so much better with them - didn't make be feel sick at all. (I take Sanatogen now, and they don't have the same horrible taste!!!)

i stopped taking folic acid at 13 weeks and didnt take anything til i had to start on iron tablets a couple days ago xxx

Thanks for the advice :) It's reassured me that it won't be such a big deal if I skip taking them from time to time
