I've got mine on Tuesday. It's the first time i've had it and am just wondering how i should expect to feel afterwards? Will i be feeling fluey?

Thanks girls xxx

I had it in uni and had Anaphylaxis after lol! Thy forgot to ask if j was allergic to eggs! Grrr! Most other ppl just felt a bit achey for day!

Omg really!!!! Can't believe they forgot to ask you something so important!

The next session at my doctors is 7 days before my due date - i'm really wondering whether its worth it. Generally I'm a healthy person and never get any bugs but I know my immune system is weak and don't want to give anything to baby. Also wondering whether I'll feel rough afterwards

In my thread I did on it on the pregnancy chat section I included leaflet details which contains after effect details, there shouldn't be any really, but check it out because I've included all the FAQ's x

I think it would definitely be worth having one hun, just incase. I have got Multiple Sclerosis so am classed as high risk and am supposed to get one every year anyway but i just kept putting it off. Until i seen Princess's thread about it and it gave me a kick up the bum to get it sorted!

I tend to just suffer from a hot achy arm afterwards. Have mine booked for 8th oct and have booked hubby in as well. No point in me beig accinated and he then falls sick around a newborn lol

Is it just the normal flu Jab? Cos if they still doin swine flu coming close to winter just be cautious that in Ireland in the last year thousands of children were diagnosed with Narcalepsy ( spelling sorry) and they think it is linked to the swine flu Jab, Not sure if it is specific to Ireland or if the UK has had similar findings but just wanted to mention it :-)

Over here last year's "ordinary" flu jab had a swine flue component in it. Dunno if this years will be the same.

I asked about this at my last mw app but they aren't doing it here yet so I'll prob miss it now

You shouldn't feel anything but a slightly sore arm as it is not a live vaccination so doesn't contain any active ingrediants. E.G. Despite popular opinion it doesn't contain a small amount of 'flu!' I had the swine flu jab last year when I was 14 weeks pregnant, and touchwood, my little man has suffered no ill effects :)

From what i've read the World Health Organisation are investigating claims in Finland, but has said this doesnt seem to be a world wide problem - which is complicating matters. UK reports stated that no more incidences that would be expected by co-incidence were reported.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion but please read carefully before you decide. Many medications (not just vaccinces) - have side effects but the benefits greatly out weigh these.

I was studing Infections Diseases and Immunity at Uni when the paper about the autism MMR link was published - and despite being quickly discredited by other scientists - this ONE paper caused widespread panic leading to high outbreaks of Measles - which can be fatal - autism on the other hand (while not pleasant) is not fatal.

I wasnt advising not to do it but just to make sure that people are aware of the facts so that they have the information to make the decision,

I do see where your coming form but even on the MMR one I know someone whos son ended up with one of the more extream cases of Autism and he was perfect happy little boy untill he had the vacine so it is so hard to know what is for the best as no one knows what may be proven or disproven in the future :-)

sorry - hugsy - didnt mean to insinuate that you were advising against it - was just advising caution - as the media CAN make side effects etc sound a lot worse that they are, especially when data can often be manipulated to prove almost anything.

Having worked with children with special needs for years, i know a lot of parents who blame the vaccine for their childs condition. Whether that is right or not is something that most of them will never know.
