feeling the need to rant....

My doctors surgery have made me so angry today,
Last week I finally got up the courage to phone the surgery , I was very excited and asked if I could have a booking in appointment with the mw, 'oh no' she you have to see the doctor first ok I says can I have an appointment with him then please 'oh no 'you need to do a pregnancy test first , I've ready done two digi ones , 'oh no ' we have to do it .
I finally put it in on Wednesday and am told to phone back on 4th April for the results.
Not happy but no other choices I wait,
Then this afternoon they just phoned to tell me I need to repeat the test as it was unusable 'funny' says the lady at the surgery 'cause loads came back with this also. 'funny' I don't think it's funny at all. If you can't trust a surgery to do a basic pregnancy test right who can we trust.xxx

Thats odd,

I didn't have to do a PT at the docs, they took my word for it!
I literally rang up asked to see my GP and told her I was pregnant and she booked me in with m/w and that was that!

That is strange... My surgery on principle say they won't do pregnancy tests there!

i was the only one who done a pregnacy test my gp never did i got my booking in appot at 8 weeks

Tell me about it , 2 years ago I made an appointment with doctor and didn't say what it was for 'til I got there he let me hear the hb and anything with out a test result maddness isn't it it's another jobsworth I'm guessing , so cross, too honest for my own good.... begining to calm down a little now .

i remmebr that when i thought i was pregnant abot a year ago i went to the doctors and she made me go to town to buy a test and take it to the surgery and tell her the results, i thought that was diabolical.
However this time i just saw gp and he referred me but could have been coz i had stuff from EPU x

EPU always make me take a test, GP didn't! However I know some surgeries do.....

I guess it depends on the policy of any given practice.

I saw GP, who got the EPU to call me re: an early scan (due to my history). The MW for my hospital doesn't work out of my practice so GP referred me. I got letter for booking in appointment and 12 week scan at the same time.

Booking in appointment @ 8w1d and 12 week scan @ 12 4d

i lost one the month b4 i got caught with this one. and my gp never questioned it.
but when u ring up my docs dont ask y u need an appointment ment, the girls on the desk just book u in unless u ask them somthing.
i know my mums docs they ask u y and think thats a bit private etc.
if ur not happy with ur docs ither put a complaint in or move. my docs isnt in my local area i drive 20mins to them (where i used to live) cause they are fab.

Thanks everyone, I know it can be different policies between different surgeries but for them to mess up a whole batch of tests seems very poor in my option, has anyone else come across that before?

That's mad and all a bit pointless! Iv never done a test, or seen a doctor. I just called up and told receptionist I was pregnant and she said I just had to make a booking in appointment. Never even asked how far on I was and I was only 5 weeks.

that sounds well crazy like summet u had to do bk in the 80s cos didnt do hpts bk then realy lol i went to my surgery yesterday n said can i have mw number please, have u done a test yes 5 at home she laughed n said ok fill this form in and then gave me mw number whome i rang this am n got booking in app for 11th april simple as that, i would be fuming if i were u aswel silly doctors xx

Thanks jojo I know yesterday I'm sure I had actual steam coming out of my ears, today I can see the funnier side and what's another week reallyI suppose , I just hope it doesn't take alot more than 2 weeks to get my doctors and midwifes appointments out of the way else I won't be getting a 12 week scan be more like 15 to 20 weeks at their caveman speeds.

Well finally got my positive pregnancy test back, at last from the doctors surgery, yesterday 10th April , I still can't see a mw as I must see my doctor first and he's......on holiday for two weeks, so therefore , my first doctors appointment for this pregnancy is set for 24th April, I'll be 13 weeks it is unbelievable isn't ? so no scan ,no hb heard, no bloodpressure taken , just waiting around I'm so fed up. xx

omfg that is terrible i didnt even have to go see gp or take a preg test at docs i just rang mw and today i have my booking in app, i think not been seen till now is diabolical and ur not going to get a scan till then is just not on,try asking for mw number and ring her urself cos this cant be right x

Thanks Jojo ,I've got the mw no. from last time I rang and she says I have to have referral papers from my gp, before she can see me or book me in , but she did say she'd make a note though and may be she can push though for a scan date once she receives at referral possibly even before shes booked me in. She seemed to understand my frustrations but it my surgery's fault and they're policy that is holding it all up. xx

ahh fc she gets u in for a scan asap still cant get over how they do things so difrently in difrent areas and thank you app wnt ok got weighed eek lol bp taken and a few questions but my real booking in is the 26th april this was just a mini one apparently and i will gt my full notes at next app,i like when i get my notes it all seems much more real then xxx
