feeling the need to rant....

Thanks Jojo ,I've got the mw no. from last time I rang and she says I have to have referral papers from my gp, before she can see me or book me in , but she did say she'd make a note though and may be she can push though for a scan date once she receives at referral possibly even before shes booked me in. She seemed to understand my frustrations but it my surgery's fault and they're policy that is holding it all up. xx

how frustrating for you!!!

When I got my bfp I called my gp, told the woman on reception and asked if I needed to make an appointment with the nurse (this was the procedure at my last surgery). She said, "you mean the midwife", I said "oh is that who I see straight away"? "No you see the Dr." :wall2: I had to wait 2 weeks for a routine appointment and had to contact the midwife myself. When I went to see the GP. she looked younger than me, looked down her nose at me and said, "your here for an antenatal appointment"? Yes. "Have you got a m/w appointment"? Yes. Rolled her eyes and sighed and said she really didnt understand why they keep doing this as there is no reason for you to come to me, its just a waste of time. I felt about 2" inches tall!!Once I d explained that it was reception that had told me to come after I had asked to see the nurse, she was a bit nicer as though she realised I wasnt purposely trying to waste her time lol!

On the plus side, I didnt need to have any other tests, the m/w and dr. took my word for it xx

Thanks for reply cyprus, It's mad isn't it the reception staff at the surgery do seem to have rather inflated egoes it's all about following correct procedure, It did make me laugh after telling me my test was positive she said how wait 'til your 8 weeks and call back , but I'm 11 weeks now i said ,oh , was her reply , I guess I haven't followed the correct procedure naughty me lol.
I guess my plus side will be it should all race though once I have this first appointment so time will past quickly it's just abit pants at the moment though. All the best with your no.3 xx

Hi katey

Don't want to add to your stress but there's certain diagnostic tests e.g. to do with downs that can only be done at a particular time of pregnancy (maybe 11w to end of 13w? Not sure but could look up if that's useful)

I am v cross with this red-tape receptionist on your behalf xx hopefully the midwife can help you here xx
