~February & March Mummies and Babies~

I've just booked my smear test for Wed morning. This does not make me happy. Do you think it would be ok to bring O with me if I can't get care? I had to take Wed morning or it was going to be another month before I could get an appt!

I didn't take Spencer with me but only cause Billy was off but to be honest I could have done, it was over in minutes!

I'm booked in next week too, I'm so scared and nervous :-/

I will not lie mines was absolutely excruciating but I have existing problems from the birth.

It really did only take 30 seconds though

Me too pet. It's more the getting butt arse naked that I hate and it's always someone I went to school with! Mortifying. Plus, mine have always been VERY uncomfortable & since the stitches I'm petrified that it will be even worse! I know it's all healed & there is nothing there now, it's just an unexplainable fear I've picked up. I'd go through labour again quicker than have a smear.
I'll obv try & get someone to have him for half an hour but it's very unlikely that anyone will be available.

Is anyone still struggling with introducing lumps? Or hard foods?

Honestly this week has been a nightmare, now it's bedtime AND meal times I dread x

No Clairey, sorry. My "issue" is quantities. Some days he'll have very little (other days he'll have plenty). They all say to let the baby decide when he's had enough so if my HV tells me he hasn't put on enough weight I'll split her in 2. :)

Harry still gags on some lumps. Mainly bread or when he's stuffed too much in his mouth. He's a bottomless pit who refused his bottle this afternoon because he wanted Jack's milky buttons!! lol. I got 2oz into him in the end x

Jack is obviously fine with finger food cos it's all he gets but try not to worry. I know easier said than done! He just needs some more practice - it's a skill he has to learn like any other and it takes some time and a lot of practice to get there. If it helps, my friend's little boy didn't like lumps still at 11/12 months but started eating them soon after and within a month or two was eating the same as all the toddlers his age. You've just got to persevere and have faith he'll get there! :)

Same with quantities, hopes. Lily eats such a tiny amount (jack eats more than her at some meals now), I used to worry she wasn't getting enough but she just does a lot on not very much. Even if he hasn't put on enough weight this week, maybe he will next time you weigh him.

Jack & Harry are the same as Lily & Jack. My Jack eats small amounts for his age and Harry sometimes eats more than him! Harry happily polish's off a weetabix for breakfast but I really have to push Jack with his last few mouthfuls of his weetabix. Both are very active and healthy though x

Harry has trouble moving his bowels :( He hasn't done a proper poo foa a couple of weeks now, he just does 3-4 small bit throughout the day. He strains hard and doesn't seem to be in any discomfort when going. Today he's done 2 tiny poo's. I've resorted to giving him squash to get more fluid into him but it hasn't helped.

He has fruit and veg every day too.

Any ideas? I doubt a Doc would help as he does go every day so probably isn't classed as constipated but he defo doesn't do enough x

Like Talulahgosh said, prunes. :) I have prune purée in the freezer in case of such "emergencies". Also, fennel tea soon shifts O too if he has more than 2oz.

As in tinned prunes, drained then pureed?

He did a huge one just before his bath. I massaged his tummy 10 mins beforehand so maybe that'll help too? x

I normally get them in a pack & hydrate & purée them. I get them up the baking aisle but as long as they're prunes they'll work!

I'd rather do that than use tinned ones. Thanks hun i'll add them to the shopping list. He never seems in pain when going but i'd like him to do more in one go iykwim lol x

Yup, that was my problem when O started weaning. They were like wee rabbit poops & the noises he made going. :) I think I gave him prunes twice & touch wood, he's been fine ever since.
