Hope he's ok sassy has he been sick again?

Jas has started making the cutest of noises!! And she's starting to smile properly too!! She can also semi hold her head up too! Clever girl!! X

O has had a great day so far. 4oz every 4 hours, good sleeps in between. The only thing is that he hates lying flat on his back. I've been thinking it was a Moses basket thing all along but he goes straight to sleep in carseat, bouncer, propped on sofa, in people's arms etc. If I put him in the Moses basket or in bed with me he flips out. I know sleeping in those other positions can't be good for him. I tried propping up an end of the Moses basket but he wasn't interested. I wonder if the bouncer/carseat give him a sense of being cuddled/held?

hey all,

hope your all doing well, its hard to keep up with the thread nowadays, used to be able to read the third trimester one and know what everyone was up to ..... not likely now! lol

some advice from any rural living ladies would be appreciated:

We currently live in wakefield, near the centre, within easy reach of doctors, trinity walk( shopping centre), sainsburys and motorways etc but have nothing in particular keeping us here and not yet joined any baby groups etc

but we saw a house in north yorkshire, beautiful and rural, inbetween thirsk, ripon and borobridge ( if u know where that is lol) and love it and could move quickly ( we rent)

anyone lived city life and rural life and could shed some light on what its like to live a bit more out in the sticks, or if in particular u know those places what they are like?

we are umming and arrhing about this house and just though u ladies might be able to give me some different perspectives and opinions on country living pros and cons

xxxx

haha as if! excellent! the house we are looking at is in rainton, im sure there is baby groups and stuff in thirsk or ripon is there ? what town do you use to shop in ? wheres the nearest retail park? wheres the nearest hospital?

ooohh im so glad someone lives up there lol

Rainton is lovely!!

Ripon has a community hospital and then Harrogate district hospital is the big one or the friarage at Northallerton which is also near thirst. I had jas at Harrogate - brilliant hospital!

There are loads of groups in ripon not sure about thirsk as don't really go there much.

Nearest shopping centre is the white rise at Leeds or birstall retail park at Leeds which has ikea. Both are only 35-40 mins from ripon. Motorway is also very easy to get to from ripon, thirsk or rainton!

Forgotten what your other questions were so will go check again!!

We usually go to Harrogate, York or Leeds for a day out. Ripon and thirsk are just like market towns.

And when sassy is at her mums we can all meet in Leeds!!

Had the day from hell I can't cope when she's like this, sat here crying cos I know it's not her fault but I can't cope with all day crying :-( :-( feel so horrible and low :-(

oh brilliant, what do you find are the biggest problems living up there? snow? internet speeds?

sorry to hear your having a shitty day diane, the bad days are hard, but hopefully not always a bad day, best to cry it out, you'll feel better, can u have a good soak in the bath or something to just have a few mins to yourself?

We've had an ok day so far. I went to my Mum's with the boys where I get a break from carrying/dealing with Harry because my Mum and Sister love carrying him so happily helped me keep him upright. I'm now at the in-laws on the sofa with Harry sound asleep in the moby after screaming the place down for 15 mins after his bottle :( the in-laws aren't confident with newborns at all but are fab with Jack so I get to deal with Harry knowing Jack's happy.

Night time will be fine because it always is but I wish I could find 1 thing to relieve his pain during the day before we go to a Doc. Roll on Tuesday x

Hun I was exactly the same until I realised Harry was suffering from silent reflux. Please book a Docs app and explain what's wrong. Also lay her on her tummy across your knees, see if that helps. Or get a wrap/sling. Mine is my life saver with my mini man x

I feel a leeds meet coming on!

Thanks ladies just doing her last feed before bed then gonna try a bath. Doesn't help that I now have my 1st af and its so so so heavy feel like I'm leaking everywhere :-/ worried about seeing blood it's bringing back memories of my hemorrhage :-/

Snow can be an issue but that's the same for everywhere really. Our Internet is fine but not sure what it would be like in rainton.

You'd never be stuck for a supermarket lol thirsk has tesco and lidl, Northallerton has morrisons, ripon has morrisons sainsburies and booths boroughbrudhe has a massive morrisons! Everything is really easily accessible x

Thanks Claire got an appt for her jabs Tuesday so gonna explain it all then. Glad you've had help today it really does make a difference doesn't it :hugs:

It really does make a difference. OH is fantastic with Harry but Jack is his little shadow at the moment so I let him be with Daddy as much as I can meaning I'm with Harry practically 24/7 which obviously I don't mind but a 5 min break occasionally is lovely x
