~February & March Mummies and Babies~

Girls once you've sterilized bottles etc how long do they stay sterile? I know when they're still in the sterilizer it's 24hours but once you take them out have you any ideas? I wanted to put some empty bottles in my bag to put cool boiled water in while I'm at my mums but I don't know how long I'll be out x

I take them all out in the morning hun and then leave them out with lids on till bedtime (bout 10ish).x

Yeah we just make sure the lids go straight on once we take them out of the steralizer and don't take them off again until he's ready to feed x

Little man has gone with daddy to see Uncle Nick, so mummy is making the most of the peace and quiet and is tucked up in bed!!! Got a banging headache and don't feel too good, so gonna have a nap I think!!!

Just fed him before they left with gaviscon in the bottle, and no sick..... It's only minus the gaviscon he is puking..... So annoying!

Hi ladies!
We just met up with baby's godfather and gf, the gf is currently working in pediatric a&e so I asked a bunch of questions and she even checked baby over! It's a shame they're in Bristol and were in London!

Nicky and Diane one thing I did ask was about milk spots and she said she's seen babies whose mothers rushed them to a&e because the spots were so bad - but they're just milk spots which don't hurt baby and they'll go.
She also told me that if baby gets a rash to always always get it checked out, even if there's no fever.
They also both said working in a hospital was just like Scrubs!!

Thought I'd pass these little bits onto you ladies...

That's good to know hun. It's not bothering her at all but it looks awful!

She's having cuddles with daddy now x

Well little man got home at 6:30, daddy shoved a bottle in his mouth cos he was crying and he vomitted it everywhere, had to give him another bath! When I got him undressed his nappy was soaked and full of poo, poor mite, that was probably why he was crying!!!
He has just had his bedtime bottle but isn't going to sleep tonight, little tinker!!! Xx

Little man went from 8:30 til 1:30, yaaaaay go little dude! He is now hiccuping in his basket as I'm trying to get him to self settle, he is quite happy, just awake lol!!' It's 2am, go to sleep now!!!!

My boobs are bloody killing me, not sure how long it will take for them to dry up fully and if I should express maybe once a day to get rid of the milk that's there??

Hope you are all having a good night with the babies!!! Xxx

Sassy, in my breastfeeding class they told us that if we do have to stop breastfeeding suddenly/cold turkey to pump to stop abcesses and blocked ducts etc forming. Say if you had been pumping eight times a day drop it down to three times a day for a few days and then drop it to twice a day for a few days, then once and so on. The milk will dry up eventually without leaving you too sore. You have done so well to exclusively express for CJ for so long.

My belly button is much bigger than before as well,it looks odd. I hope once I am back to the gym things will tone back up!

Eli slept from 7.30pm until 1.30am and then fed every two hours, that six hour stretch was heavenly. He had been sleeping for four hours at that time previously so hopefully he is starting to find his way into a routine.

I got a really great stretchy wrap, Eli loves being in it, I love wearing him and keeping him close. So much nicer than the pushchair. My husband rolled his eyes a lot as we have a thousand dollar pushchair at the front door that we never use and now prefer a thirty dollar wrap! Oh well.

About ready to kill my children tonight!! Ben had a bottle at 9 o clock and fell asleep. Beautiful! But...

At 1AM just as Ben started stirring for his next bottle, Cesca wakes up and screams the place down for 10 minutes! Took her into the living room while I fed Ben. Ben goes back to sleep like the wonderful little boy he likes to pretend to be and I put Cesca back to bed. She doesn't go to sleep but is happy.

So I get sorted get me and Ben to bed properly, lay down and start drifting when Cesca starts screaming again!! This time nothing calms her down until I change her pyjama top! All that fuss because she wanted a white top instead of a pink one! :wall2: And once again I start to drift off... When Ben wakes up and Cesca is still wide awake talking to her self... Gahh!!!!!

I feel so ill and need sleep but the little *cough* darlings are having none of it!!xx

Mummy to Francesca (born at 13:27 on 10/08/11 weighing 7lbs 6oz, 5 days early) and Benjamin (born at 23:08 on 08/03/13 weighing 8lbs 15oz, 1 day late).

Tapatalking!

Since I've put skyler onto 180ml bottles she's started waking again at 3.30/4am grr why?! Although the last couple of days we have been super busy and not followed her routine so gonna start it again tomorrow hopefully!

My belly button looks huge too! Also still got that dark line down my stomach too yuck really not feeling good in myself but lacking motivation to get exercising and eating well! Think I'll start mon after all the Easter eggs are gone lol

Aww Heppi i've had a half similar night. Jack woke up at 1.30 while Harry was feeding. But he went back to sleep wothin 10 mins thank goodness. I just watched him on the monitor. I love watching him fall asleep. I hope you're all fast asleep now. I'm just waiting for Harry to nod off after feed no.2 x

P.S my belly button was huge before both children! I also has a scar running along the bottom of it from surgery after Jack was born so it looks pretty horrendous now lol x

Another wide awake mummy here. My little man just doesn't want to sleep for longer then 2 hours at a time (at the most) was only 40 minutes last time.

Takes me ages to get him back off to sleep and then he is awake again.

Hoping his next sleep last longer as i am running on empty right now.

Aww Vicky it honestly does get easier. Jack was my Mr 90 mins for a good few months because he was such a tiny feeder. Harry has done obe 4 hour stint in the first few days but is now only sleep 2.5hrs max at night and then messes about with his bottle because he doesn't actually want it. There's not a lot I can say except keep going i'm afraid. Hope you get some rest today x

Thanks Talulah, gonna express in a min as boobs are killing me!!! I did wonder what to do! I still feel really guilty I'm putting him onto solely formula but it's better for us both!!!

We just had 2nd feed..... Slept from 2 til 4:30 when he got stressed so got him in with me and he slept til 6:15, clever little munchkin!!!

I'm getting a cold and feel horrendous, at least I can have cold medication now I'm not breast feeding!!!!

Hope you all have a good day xxxx

Well me and jas had a better nights sleep but poor Chris didn't. Too much on his mind bless him. He's just getting a shower then he's off to work - really feel for him :-(

I kept having weird dreams. First one Chris had to calm me down cod I sat bolt upright thinking I'd squashed jas feeding her. Couldn't find her in the covers so was really panicking until Chris pointed out she was still fast asleep in her basket!!

Then I woke up in another panic this morning thinking that I had given birth to 5 babies but I couldn't control them!!

I had the 1st dream when Jack was new! Scared the absolute shite out of me!! Good old sleep deprivation at it's best!! x

It was awful - I was convinced she was in the covers somewhere! Stupid thing was she hadn't even had a feed since going to bed!!
