~February & March Mummies and Babies~

Had a terrible night. O started a feed at midnight & then it became a sucking/comfort thing. Today is day 3 of no bowel movements. He keeps drawing his wee legs up & crying a really heart wrenching cry. He finally had a doze about 4am & was squealing again at 7. Feel so bad for him but don't know how to help. :(

Hopesdreams it sounds like your little one might have trapped wind or colic

He quite happily trumps away vicky & he burps when winded. Don't know if he's struggling to poop or not.

Well i managed maybe 5 hours broken sleep last night am totally exhausted.

Do any of you have noisey sleepers?? Alex squeaks and sucks loads during his sleep which makes me think he is awake when he isn't, but it makes sleep hard as he is so loud

Omg Vicky mine does the same. She also grunts!

HopesDreams, my friend told me to get a flannel/cloth and warm it up on the radiator, then put it on the baby's bare belly and rub it, it helps with the constipation. She said it worked on her 2 children every time.
Also, it could have something to do with the formula the baby's on (if he's on formula)?

Babybee, he's a bf baby...for now.
I'll try the warm flannel now. I'm willing to try anything. He looks so miserable.
Smashing wee smile by the way!!!

How long has he seemed in pain for? Mine was like that and I wasn't sure if it was constipation or gripe or colic as she was burping and farting and pooing.
So I ended up giving her gripe water, doing the flannel thing and then holding her upright on my shoulder rubbing her back and patting her bum. She fell asleep and then did a big poo. After that she farted more, whimpered a little but was fine the next day.

I also find what I eat really impacts her wind/constipation problems. I've had to cut out gassy vegetables: cabbage, lettuce etc, spicy food and chocolate. This made her feel awful. Too much dairy didn't agree with her either. Maybe your lo doesn't agree with something?

I hope he does a giant poo soon and feels better. It's heartbreaking to hear them suffer like that, poor little mites!

Jasmine grunts, squeaks, squeals all bloody night. She's doing it more and more often through the night

We went from 2am til 6:45am, yaaaaay!!!!

I've decided I'm putting him onto formula full time, he is alot more settled, and my milk doesn't seem to be filling him up!!!! Plus trying to find time to express when I am on my own with him is near on impossible sometimes!!!!

He is now having grandad cuddles after puking all over me and himself! Xxx

Tired Mummy to Colby Jacques born 4/2/2013

I admire you for expressing for so long Sassy! I found it so exhausting! Little CJ has had breast milk for the first 2 months of his life and is very lucky :)

Formula settles my one better too but breast feeding is so hassle free I don't want to change it... Yet anyway!

One other thing, now my stomach is slowly going back to a flabby version of its normal self I've noticed my belly button is massive!!! Is anyone else's? It's horrible - like a crater!

Have you tried giving him a warm bath and then gently rubbing his tummy in a circular motion when you're dressing him? Health visitor told me to try it x

Both my boys are silent sleepers and like to bury their faces like me!! OH said he'd often wake up and worry because he couldn't hear me breathing when we were first together lol.

Sassy well done for expressing for so long!!

Babybee what a lovely smile! I can't wait for Harry to smile, it's going to be intersting because he has such a grumpy expression usually lol everyone comments on his grumpy face bless him!

See ....

My mum & a friend mentioned that but the cord is so close to falling off that I don't want to bathe him just yet. Is that ridiculous?

Awww Harry is gorgeous!!!

We were in hospital for a week and the nursery nurse had us bathe the baby even though she still had the cord. We just had to pat it dry. It fell off with no issues a few days later.

We've bathed Harry every other day from day 3, his cord came off no problem on day 7. Same as Jack x
