~February & March Mummies and Babies~

We bathed CJ on day 3 too!

Thanx girls, wish I could go longer expressing, but my milk just isn't filling him, plus I'm drying up, and he is so much happier and settled now with the formula!

I've just rushed back from mums cos numnuts was staying up, and he is asleep on the bloody sofa, typical, could of stayed longer!!!!

Hope your all having a good day!!!

He quite happily trumps away vicky & he burps when winded. Don't know if he's struggling to poop or not.

Have you tried giving him a warm bath and then gently rubbing his tummy in a circular motion when you're dressing him? Health visitor told me to try it x

My mum & a friend mentioned that but the cord is so close to falling off that I don't want to bathe him just yet. Is that ridiculous?

You're not ridiculous at all! But it is perfectly safe to do it I understand though I'm so glad the cord fell off when my husband was changing him cause I would have freaked out!

Well I have CJ a feed without gaviscon and he was sick, thing is he can only have it 6 times a day, so what do I do for the other feeds??? (he usually has 6-8 a day) we were giving him it every other feed but I get the feeling we need to give him it more often! **sighs** I'm guessing I'll have to go back to gp with him!!!
He is snoring away on sofa again now!!!

Also ladies who give formula.... He weighs 8lb 6.5..... How much formula would you give him? I gave him 4oz and he was sick, do you think I should drop him to 3oz??? It says 4oz for 9lb babies..... So bloody confusing!!! Xx

Well Spencer is 4 weeks old today and now weighs 7lbs 15ozs and we have him on 4ozs every 4 hours. On our formula box it goes by age rather than weight so I'm not sure?

Sassy u really have done amazingly to express for that long xxx

Nicky I'm hoping these milk spots start to clear soon as well! They appear over night don't they. Some clear and MORE come!! Xxx

Hope all the colicy babies are feeling better soon xxx

If he drinks the whole 4oz then let him. He'll only drink until his full. Does he throw up everything or just a bit when you wind him? If it's just a bit (even if its a fair amount but not the whole feed) its normal. Harry still throws up sometimes. He was 7lb 11oz on Monday and has 2-3oz every 2-2.5hrs. We make 4oz bottles just incase. When he starts taking 4oz regularly we'll put 5 in each bottle. We may waste an ounce but its there if he wants it x

We did until we laid him on his tummy. He sleeps like a log now even with Jack crashing about and shouting in the same room. Obviously tummy sleeping is a big no no in the MW world and fully expect you not to do it but we had no choice, i'd have gone insane by now through lack of sleep and lack of time with Jack during the day. My Moby wrap works wonders getting him into a deep sleep quickly instead of rocking him.

He's been asleep since 11.30 after his feed and is just starting to stir now!!

Where does he sleep? Could you maybe roll up towels or blanket either side of him to make him feel secure? My Mw suggested it on Monday but Harry wasn't having it at all x

Willing to try anything at this point. I know he isn't doing it to manipulate me as they have no concept of that at his age but it does make it tough during the day when i have him continuesly on me and i can't catch up with things or have a sleep.

Yeah the health visitor said they were yesterday - they are just at the scabby stage now I think! X

That's what skylers spots were like too Nicky they're horrible! X

Aww hope they clear up soon.

Vicky, Harry has very good head control and can easily turn his head from side to side in his sleep (I was amazed the first time he did it which is why i'm more comfortable doing it now) so if Alex can do it too why not put him on his tummy the next time he's asleep and see what happens. I watched Harry like a hawk at first and OH was more nervous than me but we're both more relaxed about it now x

I think nik would have a heart attack if i laid him on his belly. He is a real stickler for doing things safely. Just going to keep putting him down everytime he falls asleep and hope it eventually passes. He used to have a big afternoon nap in his basket but last few days he is having none of it.

His sleep pattern today is back to normal so hoping that means a better night tonight.

We were petrified when we first did it because we didn't do it with Jack.

Hopefully Alex gets the message soon enough x
