~February & March Mummies and Babies~

i admire you claire, i wouldnt be able to cope with two! not until alfie is in school anyways id be ran around the bend! sorry to hear today is a tough day :(

my sister has just flown to australia with her family. my 5 year old nephew (who is good as gold) and my 13 month old neice who is very clingy still doesnt sleep though the night, usually wakes every 1-2 hours but i think thats improving to 3 hours now and she wont sit on her mums lap for 5 minutes to watch tv like ever! i dont know how my sister does it, i hate to think how many times she has lapped that plane!

xx

Some days are better than others, Jack's fab at playing by himself but obviously being only 21 month himself he wants me to himself sometimes which is so hard because Harry cries A LOT!! I still haven't figured out what Harry likes when trying to settle him, I think he wants to hold something for comfort but so far only holding our fingers works which obviously isn't practical as a permanent comfort lol He defo prefers to be on his tummy to sleep but i'm now thinking about wrapping his body tightly with his blanket (not his arms because he's on his tummy) to see if that helps seeing as he likes being tight in the Moby? I'm also going to lay one of my tshirt in there and lay him on it so he can smell me? I never had to do any of this with Jack so it's all very new to me!! We were very very spoiled having such a fantastically laid back first baby!!

All I keep repeating in my head is ... in a few months it'll be easier!! :) x

we have tried everything with alfie, and im still trying different things now, the most recent is like a swaddle bag thing my sister gave me that i found in his draw that seems to be good for him you put him in it zip it up to his neck and it hold him tight but hes not a tummy sleeper like harry. alfie took my favourite cardigan ransom a week or so ago we would wrap him in it and he slept better. because when i held him he was used to the feel of it on his skin too i guess as i would always be wearing it (im sat here in it now!) and before that i also laid him on the top id worn that day so it freshly smelt of me and its what hed smelt all day. we used to warm his basket up too. its still tiral and error its just most upsetting when you feel like you dont know your own child! it may sound daft but maybe even lay the moby in there if hes in it most of the day?! maybe get a teehter thing thats a simular shape to a finger im sure you can warm some of them? try holding on to that while he holds the other end and then when he drops off you can leave him to it and he will still have hold on the teether? just a random idea that came to my head, they come in all shapes and sizes im sure you can find one thats got a bit on it a simular size to a finger? xx

Good idea about the teether! I'll attack ebay later and see what they've got!! One thing I have noticed is when he's falling asleep up on my shoulder he opens and closes his hand that's closest to my shoulder (his right hand as I hold him on my left shoulder IYKWIM) almost like he's stroking me! I spend most days in Primark tshirts so I think I might go and change this one in a min and let him have it in his basket seeing as yesterdays is in the washing machine lol Once i'd unwrapped him from the Moby and laid him down I almost left him wrapped in it but it's about 8ft long!! I'll defo try it later though.

The clock changes have never affected Jack at all but i'm betting money that they'll affect Harry lol

I feel so awful being negative about him all the time! When he's not shouting at me (his cry sounds like a shout lol) he's the sweetest little thing!! Then he yells and I want to post him to Timbuctoo! lol x

you sound like me! i live in primark tops too! i love primarni! :)

alfie is such a grump nowadays he used to happily lie on his own and generally be a chirpy baby i think im going to change his milk this week, hes on aptamil but always cries and moans after a feed now do i change to comfort? or just try cow and gate for something completely different, maybe cow and gate comfort? ive heard sma is the devils food for babies so im scared to use that lol.

as for the clocks changing im not sure when exactly but i doubt it will really affect alfie, we dont have a routine really as i havnt bothered as we are off to cornwall in a few weeks so it will just be messed up then and any hard work will go out the window. also paul works either 7am-4pm or 1pm-10pm and if i need to go out in the day i have to have my car, then i have to take paul to work and pick him up and obviously alfie has to come with me, when i do start a routine it will have to bit a bit of a later one for while hes young then gradually bring it forward as he gets older and has to be up in the morning maybe. i dont really know what to do. hes such an unsettled baby now he does what he wants, when he wants, try and do anything else and he will soon convice you otherwise with his lungs. :/xx

aww hopesdreams how gorgeous!!!!!!

and claire that sounds good as its a teether and blanket! hopefully it works! x

We had Harry on Cow & Gate because Jack had no problems on it. He was having trouble pooing and never farted (always burps very well) so we changed him to Hipp Organic Combiotic and he's been great on it, pooing easily and there's double the amount each time than on C&G and he farts like a good'un now lol. Tesco's do it for £7.99 but Sainsbury's is dearer. Not sure about other supermarkets. Google it and see what you think? x

i think i will try hipp i have heard good reviews of it too. alfie parps alot but sometimes struggles with his burpies. i just feel so out of my depth with all of this hah! x

Well i'm a bit happier!!

Jack went for his nap at 10am because he was knackered after waking up at 6.10am and Harry slept too. Harry woke and had a feed and Jack woke just before he finished but happily lays in his cot for a while so he was fine. I popped Harry in the Moby, went a got Jack, gave him his lunch AND made myself lunch all while wearing him and he dozed the whole time!! I had to keep wiping crumbs off his head but hey ho lol

He's now back sleeping in his basket, Jack's fed & happy & i'm happy too!! This moby is not leaving my back unless i'm sleeping or showering from now on lol x

Ok where do I start... Theres so many pieces!!

Hi girls all good at baby clinic today, skyler is now 10lb 1oz yay! Doing so well! Health visitor told me she should be on 180ml bottles now so I'm upping her feeds, she's actually taken a couple of 180ml bottles recently so fingers crossed she starts taking them and goes longer than 2 hours between feeds now!

Hope you're all having good days x

better day for us too, seems like i woken up to a different baby! sods law is that daddy is off today and has seen a completely different baby to the one ive been talking about! lol
He has slept loads more, settled quicker and has fed in blocks and slept in between - nothing like the last few days!!! lol

Glad ur girls are doing ok, its so reassuring to read that ur going through the same things i am, and sometimes feel the same way i do.

Got william weighed yesterday and he is 10 pound 2 oz! lil chunky monkey

:)

Omg skyler just proper boy styled weed on me whilst changing her! She actually sprayed it out all over my dress and all over the sofa! Haha thought I'd escaped that with having a girl!
