~February & March Mummies and Babies~

Try not to worry nicky it will be fine. I know how horrible it can be as i had a meltdown after yesterdays midwife but Alex was good last night only woke 3 times between 10pm and 8.30am so mummy got some much needed sleep. Although i am jealous of all these short 10 minute feeds you other ladies have i am usually up for a good hour settling him back down.

They say 6 week is when things began to settle a bit (fingers crossed) so only 3 weeks 3 days to go lol

Yay for a good night Alex! Keep it up for Mummy!

Harry is FF and takes between 2-3oz every 2-2.5 hours. Does that seem ok? He's 3weeks on Saturday. I have no idea about ounce amounts because Jack took half an ounce every 90mins until he was 3 months old x

Nicky the HV will fill out lots forms, weigh her, measure her length and head circumference x and generally check her over - checks reflexes etc x same as the first baby chech at hospital xx
Be prepared they are there for about 45min on first visit xx

Claire that sounds about right for the lil man xx

She did weight, height and head but didnt do any other checks in her.

She now weighs 8.13 so they were really pleased.

She was a nice lady but contradicted what the midwife said about feeding - she said that if she starts cluster feeding on a night I have to give her to Chris and go off and leave her! Tried that last night and she literally screamed the house down! Not doing that again!

My lil bright eyed boy this morning xx
Boobies an now asleep :)
Now for Big clean up as my mum an gary be here anytime soon xx

My hv just been for second visit, Skye was 8lb 4 1/2 last week and is now 9lb 10 1/2 !!! I knew she liked her food but wow! She takes 5oz every 4 hrs day and night and is 3 weeks today x wee grubber lol x this is her now ready for a day out xImageUploadedByTapatalk1363865976.633149.jpg

Nicky babies cluster feeding is normal. Odd a HV would tell u to leave her!! Especially as she's so little. Hormone levels are higher then that's why they feed more.

OMG I can't fill him today! I've just spent the past 4 hours feeding and burping with the odd 20 min break in between. He's taken 9/10oz in that time  I'm glad the next growth spurt isn't for a couple of months!

Had a good day sky been fine feeding and sleeping fingers crossed it carries on x

What a night/morning......

Finally got to sleep about 6:30am, had to get up at 8 to take car to garage as bonnet catch had gone, only to find car wouldn't start, so had to call breakdown out, they got it sorted and I finally got back to bed at 11:30, just got up at 2:30pm!

I've expressed a few times but not getting much, and dad said he has been searching for food, he thinks I should try him on formula for a feed and see if that makes a difference..... I can't help but wonder whether he would be better off being totally formula fed or not, I know there is nothing wrong with that, but the thought just upsets me abit!!!

Know exactly how you fee sassy i couldn't keep up with his demand and it upset me so much Paul said it wasn't worth how heartbroken I was. So Alfie was put onto formula only. I will warn you their tummies have to get used to it so he may be a bit sicky until he is used to it, Alfie was. You may find he goes for longer as breast milk digests alot easier than formula too. Sorry to hear it been hectic your end sassy! Oh and I fully recommend aptamil. Alfies on it and it's the best and closest thing to breast milk. Hence why I'm happier to pay the extra. My nephew was also on aptamil as he wouldn't latch. Xx

Here he is today :-)

He had cow and gate top up when we were in hospital, I have a carton of that so going to try him with it, he is already sicky Maddie, so won't make much difference!!!!
Look at little man, he looks soooooo trendy!!! X

Does this breastfeeding get easier? Please tell me it does!!

Put her in her snowsuit to go to the shop as need something for tea and she started whinging for a feed. And it's impossible to leave her cos she starts screaming!

I admire all you BFing ladies so much! I was determined to do it with Jack and had an awful experience in hospital (won't bore you with it) that meant we had 2 extra days in hospital! It totally put me off even trying with Harry and I think i'll always feel a little guilty for both my boys.

OMG this tummy sleeping is fantastic! I have a whole new baby!! He used to flap about and wake himself up on his back within 20 mins and also started waking every 2 hours at night but not need a feed. Since yesterday morning he has slept on his tummy and has at least 2hrs each time and is sound asleep even with Jack shouting & playing on our wooden floor!! He's also taken 3oz feeds today instead of 2oz feeds and will lay by himself for up to 10 mins before being bored whereas he'd be crying in seconds before!!

Because he's so settled today i've managed to:
Load the dishwasher
Sort Harry's waters for the day
Make dinner for tonight
Put a washload on
Iron all of mine, Jack & Harry's clothes (he woke up before starting OH's lol) which haven't been done since he was born so you can imagine the mountain!
Bath Jack and actually spend time letting him play instead of a quick wash and out

And most of all spend time with my big monkey!!

I'm starting to enjoy being a Mummy again! :)

Here he is just before waking from a mammoth 2.5hr nap earlier! Love his squishy little face!

He has just had 3oz of cow and gate, he seems more settled now, think I'm gonna try combi-feeding him and see how we go, just had a mammoth cry about it though!!! Xx

Yes Nicky it I promise!!! How old is she now? Is it still painful when she latches on or has passed?
