~February & March Mummies and Babies~

Apparently it's something to do with a growth spurt - I'm honestly not looking forward to it!

Yes, infacol takes a couple of days, though sometimes I feel like it has an instant effect too.

Nicky, I've not experienced 1 hourly feeds?

Nicky luv all babies are different so dont worry about stuff lke that until IF big IF it happens xx

No thankfully and *touch wood* not experienced those yet. I think my lo is going through her first leap. This morning from 11am - 1pm she fed from the breast non stop and once she'd emptied both (she buts her face against them when they're empty) she drank a 60ml bottle of expressed milk! She's been sleeping non-stop since 1.30!!!! Tonight is going to be awful. There is no waking her right now. Why can't she be like this at night time?? Ill have to try and feed her up later this evening to see if it has the same effect.

I wish I had my baby's life!
Xxx

Blake was a little sod last night too! He was great until the 3am feed, then he refused to go back to sleep. I overdid it yesterday by going out for a walk- my scar is killing me  So when OH was losing his rag last night and Blake was crying I was crying too!

Maddiie you've just described my house! I got up to find OH had left his towel on the bathroom floor, dirty socks on the living room floor, toast crumbs on the kitchen worktop, biscuit crumbs on the sofa  Everytime Blake has a nap I'm cleaning when I should be resting :wall2:

Every time Alfie sleeps I'm cleaning or doing the washing or tidying up. I think once in the last 6 weeks I have actually napped in the daytime.

Nicky Alfie has been like that for quite a while. But won't take all his food just wants it in dribs and drabs. How i havnt slept or rested in the day I don't know. Today he was awake from 11am to 6pm and a beast for pretty much all of it. Xx

In the bath while Quinn watches footie with daddy xx fx I can have 40mins of peace to eat my creme egg nom nom xx

Hubby gona bring Quinn up for a bath with me after 40mins I.e half time of footie and he'll record the rest xx
Hoping bath, baby massage an infacol will help us have a better night fx fx fx xx

Got appointment with gp tomorrow for bp so gona ask for info on copper coil as I dont want hormonal contraception due to bp issues and alot of hormone stuff make me really ill xx
Hubby definitely doesn't want anymore children :( :( so gotta face it an do something about it x have told him to consider having snip tho as its his decision and if contraception makes me ill then he can do that instead xx

Have you girlys thought what ur going to do??
How good is bf as a contraceptive?? Ive done some research an if your periods dont come back then pretty much your covered x

Skyler has been really off today, I don't know what's wrong but she's only taking small amounts of food but wanting it every 1.5-2 hours whereas usually she will take a full bottle (150ml) every 3 hours ish. She's also been sleeping loads, I'd say she hasn't had any "alert" time today apart from when she's wanting feeding :-/ she seems really lethargic but then I have been out in the pram with her since 10.30 this morning. Hope she's just out of her routine and she's not getting my cold or anything :-(

Is it normal for babies to have cold hands ?? Alex's hands feel so cold at times i am worried he isn't warm enough but when i check his back and belly he is lovely and warm

Hands and feet are normally cold I was told - Quinns hands looked like he has raynauds sometimes but apparently normal until thier circulation catches up xx

Maddie, you're so funny when you talk about Alfie! Makes him sound like such a cute little rascal.
I haven't been able to nap unless oh is home!

DW, HL28 mentioned yesterday that she uses breastfeeding as a contraceptive (feeding every 3 hours) and she got pregnant before her first period came along!! My midwife also told me that a lady she was looking after fell pregnant 6 weeks after she gave birth even though she was ebf! Definitely not a reliable method. You could always tell your OH otherwise and if you happen to fall pregnant then so be it! Joking of course before you think I'm some kind of crazy!!!

As for contraception, I haven't used any in the 7 years weve been together aside from condoms but mainly following my menstrual cycle. That's what I'm going to do now. The pill made me ill. My friends cousin got pregnant even though she had the coil fitted. I just dislike contraception. It's never agreed with me.

Diane, mine has been similar. Really grouchy too. I think she's going through a leap/growth spurt as she's eating little and often, constantly wants to be held and only falls asleep in my arms or in the pram when were on the move!

Vicky, yes apparently it is normal for their hands and feet to be colder. I have no idea why but I remember the pediatrician told me this.

We're testing the cot out today to see if hrh prefers it to the Moses basket. Fingers crossed it works!xxx

Ohh good one less thing out of a million to worry about lol

Diane hope skyler is ok xxx

Yeah I didn't think bf would work tbh xx
Maybe for some but as hubby sooo against it I cant go against him even tho I really want to - its not worth my marriage x lol he would stick by me obv but he would be truly upset if I got pg x ive told him all the info about nothing is 100% my mum got pg with my brother on the coil so thats why I want the info leaflet on it to make an informed decision xx also gona ask for info on hubby getting snip too ;) if he's soooo adamant then I think he should do it x

Can hear lil man cry from time to time so think he'll be coming for my bath soon lol x

Ooo quick question for expressing mummies. How long can you store milk in fridge?

Alfie is a complete rascal. Paul's off for four days now as it's his birthday on Sunday so he booked a few days off. Alfies is 6 weeks old tomorrow and I've really got to start putting my foot down and persevering with where he sleeps. As you can see from this pic I took a few days ago it's clear who rules our bed at the mo!

HL28 I asked that in the breast feeding section. I haven't started yet but apparently most people store upto 4-5 ounces in a breast feeding bag and date it then freeze it. That way when you defrost it you're not defrosting a whole load and wasting it since it can't stay in the fridge longer than 24 hours.

Maddie, he's so gorgeous and cheeky!

Xxx

Its upto 5 days in The fridge for breast milk make sure you at the back not in the door or anything xx
