Today is day 4 and even though had the medication still no poop!!! Health visitor will be here any min so will see what she says.

Dr browns bottles arrived today, will let you all know if any good. Glad not just me that lo doesn't poop for lol. So hard when you don't know what to expect.

How many hours is everyone getting to sleep out of 24? I am about 4-5 I would say.

Sassy, you are just tired, don't beat yourself up. Any way you can put your head down for a couple hours and let some one help Hun? It is all hard and lack of sleep doesn't help Xx

Jus looked back at my app and Quinn slept for about 9 hrs from 11.45pm-11am so I probably had about 8hrs xx but that's cos I slept in from 8-11am with Quinn in with me xx

Rachel, let us know what the HV says about little Lily! My cousins little boy had the same thing. He then did a giant poo after 5 days and was fine after that.

As for sleep, for us the norm seems to be a 120ml bottle of expressed milk at 10/11pm sleep until 3.30/4am, breast feed for 20 mins, sleep (either in Moses basket or co-sleeping) until 7.30am. Then after that I need to sort something out as its feed, sleep, 10 min break, cry, feed, sleep etc etc! The only way to get a good break is to take her out in the buggy but its just been so cold!

I give her a big feed at 10 then she sleeps until 8! So I get 10 hours sleep a night :-/ don't sleep at all in the day, and skyler is awake a lot lot more during the day and screaming a lot :-/

Wow you ladies are doin well with sleeping! Health visitor been and gone. Stayed two hours!

She said.... Not to give her any more movicol (what hospital gave last night to open her bowls). It doesn't matter she had the powder this morning but do not give again. She does not agree with doctor, thinks it is fine for breast fed babies to not poo for up to 14 days in some cases!!!! I wouldn't be happy with that personally though.

Whilst she was here Lilly pooed twice and oh my they were explosive lol. She has since slept for two hours so in my opinion is now comfortable again. Hv thinks it is colic related not constipation which I think maybe the case to be honest. The dr brown bottles are here and Lilly's burps are much better and easier to come up so fingers crossed we may have it easier for a bit

Hv also mentioned vitamin d, not sure if any of you guys have been told this yet but..... If breast fed not formular from a month old you are now supposed to be adding vitamin d drops to babies breast milk or food until five years old!!! Formular has vitamin d in already. If you took this supplement in last few months of pregnancy you do not need to add it until baby is 6months old as has it in system already. I wasn't told to take this supplement by midwife so in couple weeks I am supposed to start buying this for next five years!!!! Going to have to read up on it as never heard of this before. Hv did say this is new info any most pharmacies won't know about it and say it is rubbish.

This parenting is hard. Fed up of people saying diff things.... Don't give baby water/you can top baby up with water. Give baby medication/don't give medication. Baby can take up to 5 days to poo/baby can go up to 14 days to poo. Don't put baby in baby bouncer/she is fine for an hour in baby bouncer. Don't bath baby more than twice a week/bath her as much as you want.

The list goes on but I will stop myself lol. Just don't know who to listen to!!!! Xx

I can't take breastfeeding anymore I've just about cracked and we've had a mini fallout over it! My nipples are cracked bleeding and agony - I refused to give in to formula but the pain is making me sick! Feel like a failure if I do give in!! He said he'd only be annoyed if I was icing in because I couldn't be bothered/ thought I couldn't do it when I can but if its because its absolute agony which he knows it is cos I cried earlier then he understands!

I just don't know what to do for the best

I got about 2 hours and woke with a headache, it literally woke me it was so painful!!!

Mil and gmil are here at moment, I'm expressing while they have him, but he is crying! I think he is hungry but they are telling me not to feed him too much! Tried him with a drop of water but he isn't keen!!!!
We also gave him some infacol, and he did burp abit better but he was sick :/(

Nicky poor you, do what you need to do for you and jas, I don't wanna give formula either but becoming to realise if I need to I will xxxx

Rachel, I take vit d supplement, my mw in hull told me to, but in Castleford they didn't!!!

Hl28, I'll be ok, just hate not knowing what's wrong with him, feeling useless etc!

Rachel, great news about Lily pooing!!! Also I remember the pediatrician at the hospital telling me about vitamin D now, had completely forgotten! Ill talk to my HV on Friday! Totally know what you mean about the different messages people give about things!!

Nicky, I did mixed feeding at first because if my sore nipples. Then they toughened up and it's ok now. I'm actually going to a breast feeding support group on Thursday to see if there are anymore tips. I can let you know what I find out. Is there anything near you?
Also there is nothing wrong with formula if that's what you need to do, so much stigma attached to everything these days but you do what is best! I swear these sorts of things contribute to things like post natal depression. My cousin told me that child rearing is as easy as you make it. If breast feeding doesn't work and is stressing you out, drop it and go to formula. No point getting down about it! So don't worry at all!!

We're moving the cot into our room on Friday. Ea is outgrowing her Moses basket pretty quickly so were going to try her in the cot.
I went shopping today and bought her some books. I read them out loud and she just stared and stared at the pictures. I think I loved it more than she did!

Nicky my nipples cracked an bled 4-5 dats in but using the lansinoh cream after every feed an I mean literally every feed they got better an toughened to it abd Quinn was better established at latching by then xx

If you need to give formula dont panic over it xx
Quinn still has 2x 1oz top ups overnight to help him sleep and I don't feel guilty its all about what works for you and baby xxx

Really struggling.
I just feel completely overwhelmed about how scared I am that something's going to happen to him. I can't sleep properly as I'm constantly checking he's breathing.

Also is it normal to start passing clots now?

My munchkin won't go to sleep now! Typical he slept ages for daddy and is wide awake for me, what am I doing wrong ladies???? He is laid on my chest looking at me!!!!
I need to work on his day/night perception it's no good!!!! Xxx

Abi, 5 weeks in I still panic about everything!!!! I check he is breathing constantly!!!
