~February & March Mummies and Babies~

Ladies I don't know what to do; my lo has been draining her 120ml feeds and I fed her at 12.45 and she's hungry again after 90mins! I dunno what to do, I told the hv this and asked about increasing her feeds but she said she's already taking a large amount for her age. Bit surely I can't keep feeding her every 90mins in te day? What would you do? Should I increase her feeds??

Hey everyone. Will do a proper catch up laters. Had an absolutely terrible night, Matt ended up taking India downstairs and just sitting with her all night as she just wanted to sit upright, whilst I lay in bed in tears :(

Was thinking, I'll make this thread into a Feb and March Mummies, as we have a lot of crossovers!

Diane, I'm not sure about that one. Maybe try increasing one of her feeds by an oz and see if that helps? That's what our HV said. These babies either eat too little or not enough. I wish mine would eat a bit more or demand more. She just sleeps a lot. Think I'm going to go back to giving her a bottle so I can control what she's taking at the moment she just sucks at the breast for a bit then sleeps.
Xxx

And Maddie I know what you mean about them finding their voice, it's really cute.

Sassy good luck tonight!

Well meal went really well...... Phew!

CJ sleeps loads too, glad it's not just him, knowing your gorgeous girl does too makes me feel better! X

Yout babies will all be 18 and moved out of home by the time mine comes................................

That makes me feel better too Sassy. Sweet little handsome CJ!

Nicky, she will be here before you know it!

I think I broke a toe. I whacked it on the stairs and now there's a big bruise and it hurts to move it. It's one of the useless middle toes thankfully but it hurts a lot!

I broke a toe on my right foot, whilst having my left leg in hip to toe plaster cast babybee, I couldn't put either foot on the floor for about 4 days, plus the toilet was downstairs, so I feel your pain, it's horrible..... Hopefully it's just battered and bruised and will settle over night!!!!

I'm having an off day with my expressing, don't seem to have nearly as much milk as normal and I am not liking it at all :-( hopefully it's just cos I'm tired etc, lets hope anyhow!!

Hope all you ladies are doing ok x

**sighs**...... I'm definatly not getting as much milk, how can it decrease so much in 24 hours? It's kinda stressing me out now, I just wish he would latch, I'm wondering if to try him on the boob when he wants feeding next time, just don't know if either of us can do the anxiety of that, cos he got so upset last time I tried!
Oh what to do..... I know formula isn't a failure, but I really wanted to not have to use it...... :-(

Hey sassy r u ok? Try not to get to stressed hun that can effect your supply. You can always try and latch CJ on whenever hun but maybe not when your stressed as baby will probably pick up on it. Breastfeeding support groups are really really good have you looked in to it at all to see if you have any near you? Xxxxx

I'm wondering if the new antibiotics are effecting my supply?
Also I've gone from being able to get to sleep straight away to taking hours, so I'm really tired! :-(
Going to my parents tomorrow for 3 days which may help! X

Just managed to express about 140ml which is best I've done since Friday evening when I was rather full..... Plus managed to spray milk half way across the room with a hand expression..... I can feel the milk, and know its there because I can get a little through hand expressing (but I'm not very good at it, get two or three massive squirts then I can't get anymore), I know it's there it's just getting it out, I'm even alternating between my manual and battery pump to see if either will make a difference (plus I couldn't be bothered sterilising at 5am!)

When I had antibiotics when bf I dont think it affected supply. Stress deffinately does though! X

x Lexi-Mai Louise Birkett's Mummy :) x Sharing a birthday with her baby boy buddies Ethan and Aaron!! x

I've also gone from being able to sleep to not being able to sleep, it's a nightmare! X

Sassy, we couldn't get the latch right either. Then one day I thought I'd try and she got it after a few attempts. Now I mainly breastfeed and have started giving her a big bottle of expressed milk at around 9am, 1pm and 10pm. The rest of the time I breastfeed on demand.

Also the other day I had a problem with milk expressing and I realised my nipple wasn't positioned properly. Once I'd fixed that it came flowing! Plus 140mls is a really good amount! I wish I could produce that in one session!

Hope it goes well with your parents and they help you destress :) I went to my mums yesterday and managed to get a 3 hour nap!

Xxx

T is on nights Monday and Tuesday, so he will be sleeping all day and at work all night, it makes sense to go there, they can have monster munch while I get a rest! Plus I can go see my grandmas who haven't seen him since he was 3 days old, and I can take him into work to see my work mates! X

Hope being at your parents helps sassy and you get some sleep!! Xxx

Haven't been on here much over last 2week's but hubby back to work tomorrow!:-( He's doing 8days straight. And shift work. Had a minor break down by 5.30 last night after a busy day taking our 5 yr old and a friend to a soft play centre as a birthday treat (so 4 kiddies to look after) then family and friends in and out visiting from 12.30-5!!!! Think I'm also slightly worrying about get three up and to school on time etc etc!! Hope I don't end up being one stress out grumpy sleep deprived mummy!!!! Xxx

Hope u r all well ladies and babies xxx

I'm thinking of putting CJ in his own room when we get back, I'm not sure if he is keeping me awake, he grunts and groans in his sleep constantly!

T has been off for 4 weeks HL28, I can't wait for him to go back to work, although didnt expect it to be 2 night shifts, that's abit crap! Hope it all goes ok tomorrow, I'm sure you will be just fine!!! X
