~February & March Mummies and Babies~

Bloody hell I didn't know they needed that much tummy time! Thanks for the tip Hun I'll keep trying ! My hv I useless she doesn't tell me anything about babies, just keeps going on about pnd :-/

Lil man just had a feed and was fast asleep, I put him in his basket and he is crying and restless! I've put snufflebabe on his chest, didnt use the spray as he was asleep but may get him back up and use it!
He will go to sleep anywhere so long as its on me right now, or on his side, which I don't wanna do cos they tell you not to!
My head is thudding this morning and I just generally feel like crap! :-( I have the mw this afternoon so may see what they say!

Oooo he is asleep and settled, I'm gonna shuffle my expressing back an hour and try a quick nap myself! X

Maddie, he is so adorable and clever being able to do tummy time. How old was he when you first got him to try?

Lol I hate my HV too, make you feel so guilty about everything!
Xxx

He was about 2 weeks old babybee. The hv mentioned it on her first visit. Even if the can't lift their head it strengthens all the bits they need to do so i used to just pop him on his tum and lay next to him and chat away and make it a fun experience he'd just scrunch his legs up like he did inside me and lay face to the side looking at me. Would cry not long after but persistence pays off I guess! The say not to do it after a feed and make sure they are fully alert (not always easy when they are a lot younger) it's a new experience so it can be scary for them I guess xx

And 45 mins is a bit extreme if you ask me. But my hv thinks she knows it all and almost had me in tears last time. So excited to see her today... Not!! Especially as our appointment was Monday and she was ill and never called to tell us! Only waited in 2 Hours for her! Xx

I can't belive it.., India only woke once in the night before 6am, and Sophia only got up once too, although I don't know when, cos she now goes straight to Matt in the spare room, lol!! I feel slightly human!

My mum and her friend came run pound yesterday for a photoshoot. Sophia was brilliant, and India stayed awake or feeding most of the day. I'm busting to see the pics!! He showed me some as we went, but want t see them all! Unfortunately there's none of Sophia and India or me and Sophia, but still!

Going emergency shopping today, it's Matt's birthday tomorrow and he's taking the day off, but I forgot to get the girls something to give him!! He asked what I was going to do today and I was like, oh I don't know, just see where the mood take us, lol!!

India's cough is still pretty bad and she'll pretty much only not cry when I hold her, but she's breathing better which is good!

Sassy, I've been getting night sweats too, my HV said it was normal. I googled it and it seems to be really common, esp if breastfeeding. Nasty!

My HV didn't even mention tummy time to me! I don't know when she's coming back to see us either. She just pointed us in the direction of the clinic and have us endless leaflets on weighing times and support groups for things like breast feeding. Then used up one of our parking permits, used our facilities had a cup of tea, snooped in the nursery and left!

Awake for three hours being a rat bag and i put him down to dry my hair and then come back to this...

Babybee mine is just set in her ways and must see me as another young mum or something like that! She was very judgemental on me not bf. And is just very odd in herself to be honest! I need to ask her again about the weighing clinics as i can't remember what she said about ours last time I was too busy focusing on not crying haha! I felt like we were treated like just another number. We are ment to feel we can talk to these people if we are feeling poop and need advice or a helping hand. I feel the complete opposite I don't want to answer the door to her! X

Jennilisanne.... That's amazing only waking once!! Right what's your secret to a dreamy baby? Spill! :P x

Morning girls!

These HV types sound like beasts! I've got my first visit on Monday and now I'm dreading it

Maddiie- Alfie looks so cute doing tummy time!! I've not started yet with Blake, but he is very strong in the neck already, so I may have to dig out his play mat.

Sassy- I hope Colby is feeling better soon, poor little man, and you too of course! It's horrible when you're not feeling well enough to look after yourself, let alone your baby too x

Jenni- We need to see those pics on here too!

Fingers crossed- I'm feeling better!! My poor boob is looking less red and less swollen. Blake actually started rooting on me last night so I lifted my top and he latched himself! It hurt like hell for a second, but felt ok after. We had a good night here too, he had a feed at 10pm, woke for another at 1am and had another at 5am and is still asleep now! I've left him and OH in bed while I've had a hot cuppa and expressed. We're going out today to visit our workplaces, then off to my mums for tea. I'm already stressing about how much stuff I need to put in his changing bag

I can assure you not all HV are awful!! The whole team of HVs in our area are.fab!! X

Tapping ;) x

Yay for feeling better dc!!! And yes I get stressed trying to remember everything in the changing bag too lol!

My little girl sleeps all night too, I dunno why or how she just does! I wake her when my hubbys alarm goes off at 4.45 to feed her, but I don't like waking a sleeping baby but I just think it's too long between feeds at 3 weeks!

Just done 5 mins of tummy time, she was fine but got fed up so 5 mins is enough for now lol, gonna build it up like you said maddie.

Also I've just noticed sky has woken with a flaky scalp, is this cradle cap? I remember my nephew had it too, yuck looks horrible!

Anybody thinking of baby groups yet? I have been massaging skylers legs/feet/arms every morning with baby oil to help her dry skin and she loves it; I have found a baby massage group near my parents that I can take her to at 6 weeks, looking forward to it! there are other groups near me but I'm nervous about going to them!

Just woke up, managed about an hour, but woke up absolutely soaked with sweat again, no fun!
Little man is still asleep, kinda, he keeps making a noise but isn't awake!
Missed an expressing time by 2 hours, but just needed the rest, gonna knock me out for the rest of the day, but oh well!!!
My hv is brilliant too, he isn't due out again whilst the 25th march though, and as for groups Diane, I'd love to go but don't know where any are yet, also not been able to drive yet makes it alittle harder too, as does still having numnuts at home!
Jenni - yaaaaaay for a good nights sleep, can you give us some tips ladies?

And DC, so glad your starting to feel better :-) xx

**note to self**..... Overdue boobies leak like mad, try not to go over by too much, or wear pads!!!!

My little tot surpassed her birth weight today. She weighed 3.660kg at birth and now weighs 3.8 kg (8.3lbs). I'm so proud of her after she lost 12% of her birth weight during her time in hospital!!
No more waking her up at 3am now!
Xxx

Sassyjane if you look on the council website there's a list of children's centres.

Fab news your feeling better dc yes packing for a full day is a bit of an experience! !

Ella Faith 8/2/13 8lb 13.5 oz x

CJ has just been discharged from mw, he now weighs 7lb 5oz, so 1oz over birth weight, I on the other hand have to go back next week!!!

I'm fuming with T, he wanted to leave little man in the car on his own while he went and made a smoke (they have gone to his friends!) when I said no the abuse he gave me was awful! So upset! :-(

PC, I'm going to ainethorp for my appointment next week, it's about 3 streets from my house so gonna see what they have going on x
