~February & March Mummies and Babies~

My lo seems to have perked up a bit now. She drank 100mls at around 10 and then breast fed for 30 mins at around 12.30. She also woke up and allowed me to take this cute photo of her:

She is gorgeous!!!!

CJ is taking about 60-90 ml every few hours! X

Thanks ladies! I do love her so much.

Sassy, how's CJ? How's your headache and scar?

Diane, how was registering the birth? It's so nice to make their names official and get them their own certificate. So cute!

Xxx

I really feel for you poor mummies with babies that have colds! It must be so hard to get any rest x

My MW came back again this morning and called the doctor out for me as the mastitis is worse and I feel dreadful. My wonderful OH took over care of Blake and let me sleep all night last night. The doctor took one look at my huge red breast and prescribed antibiotics. I'm still trying to express the excess milk, but I'm barely getting 1/2 an oz from it each time :(

Blake is being an angel, it's almost as if he knows mummy is poorly :hugs:

CJ puked his last feed up all over himself and T, he still isn't right, but not as bad as he was!

The headache is just as bad, I've been sent to bed to try and rest, but it won't happen, my scar is also painful, no tramadol left so coping on just paracetamol...... They are doing nothing!!!

DC, hope the antibiotics kick in soon as you feel better, I can't imagine how painful it must be! Glad you OH let you sleep and that Blake is being a good boy for you!

X

I've finally made it!!! I have a beautiful daughter, Lucy Elizabeth. She was born this morning at 8.52 weighing in at 9lb1. Being kept in hospital overnight so thought I'd post a quick msg. :) So giddy and elated! Xxxx

Keep expressing to get the infectipn out, it will help. I had it and its awful so totally sympathise! Also try expressing any milk left after LO feeds to make sure theres not left which can cause infection.
I found a hot wet flannel helped to soothe the soreness and redness and encourage milk flow, as well as hot showers or baths. Using a wide tooth comb.to brush down your boobs can help so can cabbage leaves and massage. Plenty of painkillers too.

Also try not.to use breastpads that are waterproof.or have a waterproof layer iykwim, as these can cause excess moisture which can make it worse. Lansinoh healed my boobs fairly quickly and they had huge raw holes.and patches. And its safe to apply before.feeding without having to wipe or wash it off. Underwired.bras can make it worse.too.
Drink plenty of water to flush the infection. Once the antibiotics kick in it usually clears fairly quickly.

I honestly feel your pain. I woke up one mornong feeling like id been hit by a bus!!
Hope this helps xxx

Tapping ;) x

There is something definatly not right with me, I'm freezing, but yet I'm too hot and I'm literally dripping with sweat despite ditching my pjs to see if that made a difference! Plus I still have this headache, and apart from expressing I've been in bed since 8pm ish so not really as tired as I was!
I hate feeling poorly, and it's making me feel like a bad mummy cos all I wanna do is get in bed and not move! :-(

You're so right about feeling like you've been hit by a bus! Fingers crossed I feel a little better this morning and have managed to express some more from the poorly boob. The redness seems to be going down, but I still feel very drained. I've got the MW due out again any time soon, so she'll do my obs and see if I'm improving.

Sassy- That is how my mastitis started, the hot and cold attacks- I hope you're ok xxx

I'm seeing the dr at 3pm so will mention it to her!
I also have pain in my womb area, as well as the scar hurting, think I'm just falling apart :-(
DW hope the mw visit goes well, and that it's starting to clear up now x

Oh dc and sassy sounds horrible really hope you're both better soon xxx

I'm taking my girl to the doctor again I am not happy with this cough/choke thing she has! She sounds like someone who has a really bad smokers cough! I'm just convinced it's not normal! Also going to see about my headaches and I'm tempted to mention how I feel about my lady parts but dunno if it's too early (3 weeks post partum).

Oh and also my bloody hands are soooo dry lol! All I'm doing is washing and sterilizing bottles all day and I deffo need some rubber gloves or something lol x

DC and Sassy, I hope this all clears up soon. Sassy, make sure your wound is properly looked at.

Diane, good luck at the doctors! Let us know how it goes. My hands are the same!! I have eczema too so it's flaring up. But I've got good cream for that.

My lo isn't letting me do anything as she has got out of the habit of self soothing and cries when I put her down. She was so good before.
