~February & March Mummies and Babies~

Diane - could be her teeth moving in her gums I guess? Lily was an early teether and she was getting teething pain around the 3 month mark i think, or maybe earlier. Her first tooth came through at 4 - 4 and a half months i think and she was all done by 20 months. 7 weeks would be early to have teething pain but some babies teeth move well before they come through.

Cescas' first tooth cut at 3 months and she was all done by 14 months... Could well be the start xx

I'm 100% convinced my poor little Harry has silent reflux :(

He fits 9/10 symptoms. We're going to the Docs ASAP to hopefully get some help.

I'm feeling terrible because I was beginning to feel a bit resentful for him being here and taking away so much of my time with Jack (makes me feel utterly shit) and the whole time the poor little mite has been constantly screaming in pain :( I feel like such an evil mother for feeling bad for him being here x

well ive had an hour sleep and lil man still asleep x were thinking he sleeps best in his snowsuit cos he's cwtched in an cant kick blankets off so gona try that tonight x
Ive expressed 50mls so far gona try again in a mo x so that with a formula feed mum says shes gona have him for as long as possible overnight and let us catch up on sleep x
As we don't have family close by so gona use this help when offered xx

Thanks for advice ladies xxx

Claire don't feel bad hunny xxx a new baby is a minefield even if its not your first! You're a great mummy cos you're so concerned to get Harry the help :hugs: out of interest, what are the signs of silent reflux? I'm starting to wonder about my lo too...

There were 10 symptoms on the site I read. The one's I can remember are crying ALOT - I can not comfort him, nothing works unless he's laid on his belly and I either help him suck his thumb or try and get him to suck his dummy. Not sleeping for long during the day, on his belly he'll have a food morning nap and a good afternoon nap but only 10ish min naps the rest of the day. He will not sleep on his back or sides at all. They hiccup and cough a lot, Harry has hiccups at least 15 times a day and has had a little cough since birth. Has a grumpy/puzzled face, everyone comments about how grumpy he looks. They have excellent head control and are very alert. Again everyone comments about his head control, he literally flings his head about and is super strong, he's also constantly staring intently at people rather than gazing around the room. Latching and unlatching thoughout a feed (bottle or breast) and generally messing about with feeds, he does this every feed. They have to be held upright, Harry is only ever slightly happy when held up over your shoulder while you pat his back as your winding him, as soon as you change his position he screams! A gurgling belly, he sounds like he hs thunder in his bellya lot.

I'm on the iPad at the mo so can't copy and paste the list but that's the general gist x

Thanks so much for that Hun! Unfortunately my lo fits all those points too :-/ I have her first jabs on Tuesday so will mention my concerns then as well. Let us know how you get on Hun hope Harry is ok xxx

How are you girls all finding your relationship with your oh since baby has been born? Although I do have a touch of pnd and haven't bonded ordfelt that love yet for my little man, I'd say me and hubby are more in love now than we ever have been and we're much stronger too. The only issue is that we have had absolutely zero time together due to his shifts and Spencer's sleeping patterns.

He's on midnight finishes for the next three weeks etc and doesn't get weekends off so I'm doing 90% of the childcare.

X

Yep my little munchkin is in his too, just hope he stays settled and we both get some sleep!!!
I'm not tempted to get mine out as took a while to get him in, and I don't wanna get him used to my bed, just broke that habit! Lol!!!

Hope you sleep well Hun, and that all the babies are good for their mummies!!! Xxx

Clairey: I'm suffering with my mental health at the moment (existing problems) but me and OH are much the same as before on the surface. Underneath I feel cut off from him, and the children. So, not so good here.

I had PND after Cesca and trust me, the bonding will come. Maybe not in the overwhelming rush of love everyone tells you about. For me it was much slower, and happened without me even realising. xx

Clairey, my OH sleeps on the sofa (his choice) and he also works shifts, so I am doing 90% of the childcare too.... As for being more in love, he annoys me even more than he did before, especially the fact he is so selfish.... For me CJ ALWAYS comes first, for him it's his smoke and tv, then CJ!!!
Must be nice to feel the way you do, I forgot what it's like!!! Xx

Sassy, Cescas' Dad was like that and it destroyed us. Don't let him get away with doing nothing. Get him helping you before you get too overwhelmed!xx

Aw sassy I didn't realise! I'll be honest and say that before Spencer was born Billy was so lazy and inconsiderate! But the second I went in to labour he's become a changed man!

While I was recovering at home he did all the housework, cooking, shopping and made coffee on demand lol. Even now I've partially recovered and he's back at work he's still doing all he can for me around the house and cooking when he comes in.

Will he ever change do you think sassy?

And heppi, I'm reassured about the bonding and love. I hope it's not too long cause I'm really struggling with it! How quickly after her birth did you realise it was full blown pnd rather than just baby blues?

No, I don't think he will ever change, he is too set in his ways!!! :-(

If I don't do things they don't get done.... Also CJ has been sick twice today, funnily enough both times was when Tris fed him, because he pays more attention to the tv than what he is doing! Also there are times when I'm upstairs supposedly having some "me time" and he is supposed to be watching CJ, yet I can hear him scream, I go down and he is outside smoking and I'm left to sort little man out! Ive even had to get out of the bath to go sort him out!!!
As soon as we come in if we have been out, he dumps him in living room and is straight out for a smoke, even if there is shopping to be put away and he needs feeding etc! Drives me insane!!!

If you think you have PND Hun I would speak to your gp.... I have high level anxiety disorder, and I am on medication to treat it (pre-existing condition) please don't suffer on, help is there, as are we lovely!!!
