Welcome Anna....we will be quite close in due dates, I think I'm the 28th Feb at the mo. I'm assuming you are in the UK? Your midwife, or your GP will refer you for your 12 week scan, which is at a local hospital. You then get another at 20 weeks, unless they have reason to monitor you more closely. You can book in for private scans if you would rather have one earlier, which some of us have done. Its not necessary but it is quite nice to see baby before 12 weeks!

I believe my due date is 26th as that's what NAtural Cycles app has calculated for me... if calculated with last period should be 21 but have had longer cycles than most so.... We'll see in a few weeks what predictions they give me !
God 12 weeks... that's going to feel like a long time again
I was soooo looking forward to friday having a big of hope we would have a sneek peak of the BB !
I come from another country and it's so different... GP takes bHCG blood tests and then repeat 2-3 days later then you get early USS then 12 weeks then 18 weeks etc... feels like forever here !!!

I gues I am "Just" being very impatient !!!

Well my scan is in 2 hours, I’m trying to remain calm but I am in an absolute panic. I woke up at 2am and never got back to sleep, this is ridiculous!! Wish I could calm myself down!

Guys it went great!!! Baby measuring 10+1 so I’m now due February 5th - my best friend’s birthday!!

I can’t tell you how relieved I am!

Thanks ladies, it’s hard to put into words how I feel, like an awful twisted weight I’ve been careyingninside my body has just evaporated. It’s just a miracle. Of course now I get to worry about the anomaly scan, ha! But for now I’m just relieved and grateful.

I’m going to ask for another scan in a week I can’t wait much longer than that anymore the last week and a half has been awful

My nausea has come back this week and it is worse than before!) so feeling pretty rubbish. Got my scan date through 31st july so not too far away. I just hope it all goes well as its 5 days before our wedding!!

I'm going to hold off on another scan, was thinking about going for a private one but I could spend that £60 on something the baby needs instead.

I'm worried about when I get my next appointment letter through though as we're away for 2 weeks - I'm really concerned they'll send my scan letter while we're away and ill miss the appointment because we'll still be away. Not sure who to call if the week before we go I still haven't heard anything

Donna, I hope you get an appointment that works for you! It is crazy how different it works here (I'm in the US); yeah we don't have universal health insurance but at least we are in control of appointments etc; we'd never be told when our appointment is, we make them for ourselves, which does simplify things.

Mystery I am so sorry about the anxiety, I know the days leading up to my scan I was an absolute basket case and there was no way I could have waited even one more second to find out that baby was ok. What are your symptoms these days? How are you feeling overall? Any spotting at all?

Lynsey, yes, we have the same due date now! I'm SO sorry about the nausea, that sounds awful

Sleepyhead I'm sure the scan will go great! I hope we get to see wedding pics Will you go on a honeymoon after?

I had bad insomnia last night, which seems to be my only symptom these days. Well, and peeing 8+ times a night and a hundred times a day. Which contributes to the insomnia!

Hi ladies, all good here. Just the odd bout of nausea, and the giant boobs (not complaining about them...lol!). Needing a wee every single morning at 5am, which is not great, and probably contributing to me feeling like a zombie when it is actually time to get up. I said to my OH, you feel like you should feel great, healthy eating, no booze, early bedtimes...and you feel like crap! What with that and the constant worry, I will be glad to see the back of tri1!

Kholl- I'm in the US too! It is crazy to read how the health system is sooo different in the UK. At least they don't have deductibles there! haha

EDIT- just read that your scan went well! So happy for you! What a relief, huh?!
