****February 2019 Mamas****

I'm going to have a bath. Haha. That's my big plans for Monday I think.

If I still haven't had her by Friday I'm meeting a friend and might pop to lush to buy some more bath bombs for more baths the following week.

I will get some work done as well. It's weird though I actually don't think I feel like it's really going to start to be honest. It's all a bit surreal.

Hi ladies, it's been a busy weekend for me, just managed to catch up with all your updates. Loving the bump pics, you all look fabulous! Kholl I am 37 so maybe that makes me the old lady?! I have to say I have felt a lot older in this pregnancy than first time round, I think if I decide I want another it might have to be quite a swift turnaround! The thought of doing this much closer to 40 doesn't appeal!

I had my 36 week scan today....they tell me baby is weighing 6lb15 at the mo. I know they are notoriously unreliable but as my son weighed 7lb5 at birth that would give me another week to go, and I'd be more than happy with an early arrival! I'm sure I'll go ove due now that I've thought it though! This week I am on tenterhooks for my BP, this is when it went up last time but right now it is excellent, and my placenta blood flow looked good today too so fingers crossed!

When was your son born Gemsy? Was he early or late.

Saying that each baby is different so there's really no way of telling is there.

As much as I'd love to have my little one anytime after the wedding - I am coming around to the thought that spending some time just enjoying my maternity leave before she does arrive will be nice. I've always said I'd happily work up until the day I have my babies (said it with my son and that's what happened) said it with this one. But like I say I think it'll be nice to enjoy a couple of long baths, just relaxing a little, sorting things in the house but also not completely over doing it by having a full day at work followed by sorting things out.

I must be the youngest one here, I'm 29!
My husband will be 35 a week after my due date, really hoping sprog makes an appearance on or before our DD. Not sure how I'd feel about having them both so close together!

I've been having a nice lazy day today after a few manic days cleaning, building, car purchasing etc.

Am now currently snuggled up on the sofa eating Creme Eggs and watching telly :-)

My husband's birthday is 5 days after our due date. He's always said that he doesn't mind if she arrives on his birthday as he'd happily share it; personally I'd rather they both had their own days but it's not the end of the world if they're close or even on the same day.

My mum's partners birthday is a week after our due date - so we're going to have more birthdays close together no matter what.

To be honest our main concern is getting to the wedding on friday; after we get passed that I can't worry about whether she's close to birthdays or not haha otherwise I'd only have a very small window I'd be hoping she'd arrive in.
I would rather the week before husband and mum's partners birthdays though; that's more because it's half term the week after and I would rather husband and son got to spend their half term with her rather than us sitting around waiting for her while they're both off. Would also make childcare easier for son when it all happens as he'll be at school during the day and also my mum is away the week of half term.

Aw Phillipa I was 29 when I had my first! It's a great time.

Donna, I'm also wanting to get to/past Friday (and I'm sure I will, but it's still on my mind!) because that's when our insurance plan switches over and we'll pay $200 instead of $5000 to the hospital. At the moment it doesn't seem like a very big deal cause all I can think about is when is baby gonna come and how overdue am I gonna go THIS time etc etc but... I know in retrospect we will be very glad to have saved $4800!

I can imagine, at least it's not long now. Fingers crossed both of them stay in until the weekend at least. I can't see mine arriving anytime soon to be honest. I'm showing no signs. I just constantly ache but that's to be expected.

I’m having a properly lazy day today. Only just got up and had breakfast, decided to have a Netflix day, currently on mad men again.

May do a bit of washing in a bit but that is as far as I am going today haha. x

PennyPie, most of my days involve binge watching something on Netflix, although Mad Men has never interested me. I might rewatch some old stuff.

I see my midwife again next week on Thursday, and she's offered me a sweep if I haven't popped already by then. I've done some research into it and it seems to me that it's very hit and miss as to whether it works or not. Has anyone here had one in the past and if so, what happened?
I don't want to be induced as everyone I've known who had an induction, has ended up having an emergency c-section, but because of my epilepsy they don't want me to be too overdue. What to do!

IVW, no I don't know what I'm having! DH says boy, kids say girl, I am totally split. So weird cause I knew 100% with the others (we didn't find out, I just KNEW).

Oooooo thats even more exciting  xx

My midwife said that sweeps only really help if your body is doing something anyway - so she's not offering me one until 41 weeks. However, I'd always try one before being induced so it's probably worth it for you. I've never heard anyone having an awful experience with a sweep, so even if it doesn't work I kind of think what's the harm in trying?

I was induced with my son and didn't have a c-section if that makes you feel any better. Fingers crossed it won't come to an induction anyway - but being induced doesn't necessarily end in an emergency section. If you really are worried about that though would they consider doing a planned c-section instead of inducing you? As I share your fear of an emergency one and my health visitor suggested I push them for a planned one if they were unsure (this was back when we weren't sure if my placenta would be too low) she said if they weren't sure whether to or not and I explained my fears they would take that into consideration.

Thread hopping here just to say I've been rewatching all of Mad Men on netflix recently, just started season 5 now, and obsessed with it just as much as I was the first two times I watched it! Highly recommend it, one of my favourite shows! Enjoy your lazy netflix day, I'm jealous!

I've never watched madmen before. I might have to give that a go when my maternity starts.

I'm planning lots already - haha well not lots, but Monday I'm having a bath - Tuesday or Wednesday I'm going to head out to the outlet centre to pick up some face cream and hopefully find some extra presents for my husbands Birthday, Friday I'm meeting a friend. So not loads of plans but it's exciting thinking I can just be like ''oh I'm going to pop here that day'' or I'm just going to chill. Obviously I will do some housework and maybe even get some sewing done as well in between.

I'm just unsure on whether to just go out on my own to the outlet place or see if someone fancies going with me.

Looking at my signature just now has also made me realise that if she arrives next Friday it will be out 3 year and 6 month wedding anniversary haha. That would mess up my plans for meeting my friend potentially though - unless I met my friend and then went into a very quick labour in the afternoon/evening.

At the moment I'm still thinking she'll probably be late, either late or she'll be arriving this Friday during the wedding. I've just had my midwife and she was very clear on making sure we were prepared for going into labour while we're there. Luckily everything she said we have already thought of, like making sure we know where the closest hospital is and making sure we take my notes and hospital bag just in case. It's one of those things isn't it, chances of us having the baby in two days are very slim, until you factor in that we're going to a wedding so there will be travelling and I'll be on my feet for a lot of the day. Plus all the excitement. I swear babies like to show themselves for an event haha, must be how so many people end up sharing Birthdays with relatives.

I watched it all the first time round, I’ve been watching greys a lot but my husband has decided he wants to watch it with me so I have to find something else to entertain me while he is at work!!

Donna, my son was 4 days late.....BUT we had no idea of our dates and as he wasn't that big I'm wondering if he actually was late after all!

I had a sweep with him, and I agree with the others, I don't think it does much unless you are starting to get going anyway, but it can't hurt....plus it's like a warm up for loads of people needing to mess around up\near your bits for those who are doing it for the first time! Lol

I'm another who had an induction previously and didn't end up with a csection too.

Yeah my friend really wanted to avoid a sweep; I want to avoid one in that I don't want to be going a week over and thinking nothing's happening need to go for a sweep. If they offered me a sweep next week I'd happily accept as like we say, it can't do any harm.

Brought our hospital bags down ready to put in the car; which felt really weird - although like I said to my husband really we should have had them in there before now.

I don't think they really know with due dates do they; all babies are different it's impossible to tell how far along exactly one is based on the 12 week scan and yet that's what they do base it on. I suppose we have to have something to go by.

Apparently my bump is now above the line size wise; but still nothing to worry about. They said as my son was big for his gestation that they'd expect it anyway; I'm slightly worried if they think she'll be on a similar scale to my son though as he was 7lb8 at 37 weeks... that would probably put her at 10lbs or even bigger if I end up going over/when you consider second babies tend to be bigger anyway.

I have had sweeps with all my pregnancies, with my first they did nothing but with my second and third they really kicked things off BUT I was already having some "real" contractions (just erratic ones) and starting to dilate. So yes, they do seem to speed things along but, like all the other non-hospital induction methods, only when things are happening anyway!

I'm having awful GI stuff today, nausea and diarrhea, and TONS of BH contractions... I would probably be getting excited if this were my first or second but at this point I've been down this road before and more than anything I'm just uncomfortable and annoyed!

Sorry to hear you're suffering, although even if it doesn't mean things are going to start happening right now, it does mean that your body is getting ready. Only a few weeks to go

Right, it's so close for us all now. I can't believe tomorrow is the last day of January. I mean I just cannot believe we have basically arrived. I really do feel in that so close/so far away mindset right now, it's a funny place to be. In a way baby's arrival felt even closer at christmas when I was like 34 weeks and I was like "omg my due date is only 6 weeks away!" Now my due date is 6 DAYS away and I'm expecting to go a bit past that (I do hope it's more like 41 than 42 weeks!) and it just feels like that time stretches out in front of me for so long. I'm ok with it, I mean I don't want to be induced but I don't feel terribly impatient... yet!
