****February 2019 Mamas****

I understand that about them not being bothered; I'm just the sort of person who feels like you should make the effort when you've invited people and are aware of their dietary requirements. I'm the same; if it was me I wouldn't be upset by someone not doing it for me. I just feel like I should for them. I'm sure they'll appreciate the flapjack anyway.

Ahh; of course, would be great if baby did arrive for superbowl for you. I used to follow the football but it's completely passed me by this year haha. I'm kind of the same in that I focused on the 6th or at least that week... but that was because we thought we were having a section for so long. Now I doubt it'll be that week and I'm kind of hoping not. The following week would be lovely though (which would be due date week) I'd be so happy if she arrived a day or two either side of her due date.

Yeah, I actually couldn't even tell you who's playing in the Super Bowl this year haha! My friend noted that there are probably very few inductions scheduled for that day so hopefully the hospital wouldn't be too busy! Not that I mind too much; for my last birth (same hospital) they basically left us alone for the vast majority of it, and checked in on me periodically and watched me through a few contractions, and then the midwife and nurse weren't in the room full-time until I was starting to push. I really hope to have a similar experience this time.

That seems to be how they handle things here from what I've seen and heard. Unless you need them they just leave you to it until it gets to pushing time.

I'm actually quite excited about labour time; I'm not worried yet. Don't know if I'll suddenly panic when it happens or as it gets closer to the time and I know there's a shorter space when it could happen (within the next 4 - 5 weeks still seems like such a big range and a little bit unreal)

I’m also 36, so we can be old together haha.

My dad will be fine I’m sure, just need to get his pain and treatment plan sorted and he will start getting back to normal, this is the worst bit but we are all focusing on this little one so it’s kind of a good time/bad time thing.

My friend is vegan, she just takes her own food with her now. She brought her own cake yesterday haha.

I’ve been having a few pains today, but think it’s still Braxton Hicks. I’m also shattered. Think my husband is nesting, he’s on a mission with cupboards and drawers today!! Hoping mine kicks in tomorrow as I can see lots that needs cleaning but been waiting til I finished work. Xx

It's good that you have the little one to focus on as well at this time; I'm sure it'll help your dad as well.

When is your due date again? (Its hard keeping up with everyone haha)

I haven't really had any braxton hicks, I think I had one between Christmas and New year's and then a few days after new years I thought I had a couple one evening. But nothing since then so I'm not sure if that was them or not.

Mine is 8 feb, 1 week and 5 days!! Eeeeeekkkkkk.

I seem to have been having them since about 30 weeks I think. Mainly when I’m walking a lot though. Don’t hurt, are just uncomfortable although have been a bit more sore the last few days but know it’s not the real thing yet. x

Oh man my BH contractions have been nonstop the past couple weeks. It’s getting ridiculous!

Gosh the build up on here is too much, haha I'm excited for you all. Feels like ages since I had Daisy - nearly 3 weeks ago already .
Those constant BHs definitely sound like you're getting close! My tummy was like a rock constantly at the end.

As if it was nearly 3 weeks ago; wow - I reckon I have over 3 weeks to go until my little one arrives yet but when you say Daisy is almost 3 weeks old it shows actually how 3 weeks can go so quickly.

I'm so tired after work today; I've been getting period like cramps and back ache, wondering if it's because she's getting engaged but I suppose I'll find out on Wednesday if the midwife says.

I've also had the odd what I think is braxton hicks. My boobs are also starting to get really big and heavy.

I've eaten loads of rubbish today as Well, couldn't keep away from the cake at work. Whoops.

Donna, I am slowing down too. I noticed at my barre class yesterday I suddenly could do way less than normal!

Yeah, I’m 39 weeks tomorrow, so hopefully no more than 3 weeks left now... I just have no idea!

Here’s the baby bump in full effect!!

You have an amazing body; I've gained so much on my arms and legs as well as bump.

Hopefully a lot less than 3 weeks for you; but yes good to think that it'll be no more than that. It's no more than 4 weeks for me on Wednesday. I'm really hoping I don't have to be induced though, just because that's what happened last time. When I say about being surprised about how tired I am though, I do need to remind myself that last time I had already had my son by this point and I was so ready to have him as well - I was ridiculously uncomfortable and always said next time I'd be begging to be induced again at 37 weeks as couldn't imagine having to go upto another 5 weeks. Whereas although I'd happily have her now I'm happy to wait; I think perfect timing would be next week or the week after... any longer than that and I'll start going a bit stir crazy I think.

My baby seems to have run out of room tonight. She’s moving and it is sending sharp pains right down me. I think she’s all elbows and feet!!
x

What a beautifully neat bump <3
Do you know what you are having Kholl?

Lovely bump there Kholl! You're looking fab.

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow so will get a bump pic up at some point.

I've been having a proper lazy day today, the cats and I haven't moved from the sofa all afternoon and it's been great!
Been binge watching the new documentary on Netflix about Ted Bundy which was fascinating, anyone else into those kinds of shows?

Phillipa, I was into that stuff before I had kids! Now I can't handle it... however, have you watched the first season of True Detective? Best TV I've seen in my life.

IVW, no I don't know what I'm having! DH says boy, kids say girl, I am totally split. So weird cause I knew 100% with the others (we didn't find out, I just KNEW).

39 weeks today, which is crazy!

We watched the Ted Bundy thing over the weekend, I obviously knew about him but I never knew all of it. The whole story is crazy.

My day at work has been quite good today; however once again in absolutely shattered. Got lots to try and do by end of play Thursday. It'll be interesting to see what I get time to do.

I can feel myself getting really short tempered though. I think it's because of the tiredness. I went out after work to pick up a baby box (which was way more hassle than it should have been) the place I was going to get it from who had "saved" me one, had given it away and it was their last one! They said they were getting more on the 9th; so I was going to wait and call them again then. However I'm glad I didn't as they'd changed all the info on the website and apparently all the places only do it for the town I live right next to and nowhere will let you pick it up if you live in my town. You had to pay for postage and as it comes from America I was worried that it would also then come with import tax. So I was a bit cheeky and one of my colleagues gave me her post code to use when calling another place up to see if they had any.

Anyway I left it in the car as they're quite big and I had loads to carry in from work and it was raining. So asked husband to help me bring it in and upstairs and he's banging it about (he's really not delicate at all) so I had a go at him. Then as we're coming downstairs he spotted there was a slight bit of wee from the dog on the floor; we leave him puppy pads out if he's going to be left for a long time but he's stopped using them which is a pain. Anyway I'd already come in and cleaned up the wee, but had obviously missed a bit. Which husband didn't see until he was coming downstairs so it wasn't like it was obvious and he's having a go about that. I had to bite my tongue to not have a go at him, it's like yeah well you didn't spot it straight away either it's dark in that room.

Like I say I know it's over tiredness, from work, chasing after the box and also I didn't sleep well last night either as the dog and husband were both taking up loads of room. Bring on maternity; hopefully I'll be a bit less moody when I have a bit of time to myself and not around people constantly

I think everyone is a bit fraught at this stage, lots of snapping between everyone. Don’t worry, it’s a good sign we are nearly there.

I haven’t watched ted bundy thing yet, but planning on it. Want to watch the abducted in plain sight too, apparently it is quite interesting. My husband asked if I was planning knocking him off a while ago as every time he came in I was watching some sort of murder documentary!! I said I just like to keep him on his toes

I’ve cleaned my washing machine today, both upstairs bathrooms and built the next to me. Then went for a coffee with the in laws, and then for a swim. Feel quite productive. xx

Haha I've been asking my husband the same thing as he's been picking what we watch.

I can't wait for next week. No idea if I'll be relaxing or productive but I'm just so looking forward to having a bit of time to do what I want. Whether that is sorting the house or just not doing much so I have the energy to sort things when I need to. At the moment being at work makes me feel like I can't even make tea for my family when I get in; it's ridiculous how drained I feel just from being at work.

I’m two days in and already restless. I’m shattered so need to chill, but then feel guilty not doing anything so doing things.

Hope you deal with it better than I am. xx

I'm really not sure what to expect. I never actually got any maternity leave before my son as I had him a week before I was due to start it.
