Well i havent even GOT my baby yet and i have already managed to build up a stash of wraps :dance:

I have two didymos wraps, one linen geckos and one cotton geckos

i also have a stretchy moby wrap for the newborn as i heard they were better because they cling them to you for the first few months

For next years festivals i am desperate for an Eye2Eye mei-tai and i am going to force hubby to buy me one asap :)

so everyone, whats your favourites? what have you tried/want to try

I struggled with the Moby wrap if I'm honest BUT I have ZERO patience!! I moved to a Maya Wrap that I LOVE and I also use a Close Carrier which is like a Moby cheat!

I really want to have a try at one of these as I would like the option to have the baby close and have both hands free. I think I will have to wait a little nearer the time though :0)

I really liked the look of the moby wraps but had decided against it because of my back BUT after talking with OH I'm thinking that I might get one anyway as I carried DD alot just in my arms and surely it would be easier on my back to have a wrap than carry Seb in my arms x I'm thinking for school run and short trips-wrap and long trips pram? Good idea? x x

I love the moby wrap - only just got one for Toby and he loves it. I've had front carriers with both boys before but I always felt like I had to hold them with one hand too. I even managed to carry Sam around on holiday while Toby was in the moby :yay:

Great thread BigBum(p) going to be interesting to see everyones choices then I can pick one to get myself :D x

helen, i have some back problems too and the woven fabric type wraps are actually very good for us because they strap us in to them and make us stand up straight whilst evenly distributing the childs weight

so it might even HELP your back problems :) :)

carrying a baby in a sling properly and carrying the weight of your LO round in pregnancy are totally different. You can position them in a sling where you cant when pregnant.....dont rule it out because of back problems :)

Asl a silly question and all that ladies but I am very big busted so I thought the moby style rap would be better than say a sling as you can hold baby higher up the body. Has anyone tried both and is there any advice anyone can give?

Mez xxxxxxxxxxx

I have no first hand advice honey but i asked some bigger mamas that i know because i am a big girl myself and they said that neither really sparked much problem

baby liked to be nuzzled near to mamas boobies anyway so they just sort of fit around it

i will definatly have some more information for you in a couple of weeks :)

Ooo thanks Big Bump good luck with everything I bet you're really excited now :)

Very excited :) and quite 'twingy'

My mum is coming in a few days so willing Jasper to stay put until then at least :) Cant WAIT to try out my wraps though :D

I have two storchenwiege slings (5.2 metres) and one didymos (2.7 metres. I really like the storchenwiege ones, they are also long enough to be used by (much taller) people and with this length you can tie them in so many variations. I do like them with baby in front but carry the baby on my back is horrid.

For newborns and not so mobile babies I love to wear them in a sling all the time, now my boy is really into exploring and wants to be on his own all the time. I only use this sling when we have to go by public transport and it is too much hassle to bring the pram.

I also have a ergo baby carrier (which isn't a sling) I HATE this one, it feels like a rugsack and closes at waist which really hurts (in my opinion) I think that is a guy thing because my hubby thinks this one is easier than the normal slings.

My didymos short is like a rebozo and has to be tied before you put the child in, I do not like this at all since my child is always very wiggly and can get out of it. I am thinking of buying a ringsling for the second baby as these are very easy for putting the baby in quickly at home (not for long distances) but you need to have either a small baby (meaning still young) or a very laid back one to use the ringsling when they get older, my boy needs to be in the sling very very tight otherwise he tries to get out.

I do not like the stretchy wraps especially as the baby gets older it just pulls too much and can intervene with the proper frog leg position the baby needs to be in while being in a sling.

I have a moby stretchy wrap and I can't wait to use it :)
I had the cheapest most useless thing with Eva as I knew nothing about baby wearing at all but I still used it every day :D

We have got a moby plus a beco - I was looking for a mei tai / something a bit more structured than a moby and beco has some cool features - inner layer so easier to put child on back, plus an additional support that can be used with a smaller child. Also, my SO wants to use a sling and wasn't sold on the moby idea! http://www.becobabycarrier.co.uk/

Looking forward to actually being able to use them.

I just really really want one of these

mmmmmmmmmmm dribble dribble - and i havent even had him yet

will be a next years festival accessory i think :D

I know this was ages ago but I happen to have a black cord Eye2Eye if you are interested. It's purple wings.

I'm not sure how to message you on this forum otherwise would have done so.
