Finally getting round to my borth story
I woke up at 3.30 am on sat morning feeling a little wet so investigated and was about 90% sure my waters had gone!
Laid in bed for a while wondering is today the day
having some mild period type cramps!
About half 5 I decided to wake Rachael (my partner) because I was still leaking! She sprang into action running round the house like a blue arsed fly lol sorted the boys and rest of my bags! So then I rang triage! As I was getting ready more of my waters leaked and soaked the bathroom floor! So now I was 100% sure
After dropping the boys off with Rachaels mum Made my way up to triage at half 6!
Was examined! Wasnt actually told they had deffinatly gone but she said we will assume they have gone and I was 1 cm
gutted! Thought this is gunna take forever lol was told to go home and return if things got moving or at 8am next morning for induction if nothing happened!
I didnt actually leave the hospital till 11am as we had to be on the childrens ward with joshua at 8.30 (that is a whole other story) so we met rachaels mum there with joshua! While joshua was having his iv antibiotics I was contracting and they were getting stronger! 1 of the care assistants joked and said I should go back to triage and get checked again before I went home lol but I didnt!
All done we made it home for about 11.15! I decided to try a bath but was only in it 5 mins when pains got atronger and had to get out cos it was just to uncomfortable all I could do really was just stand and rock. Couldnt sit as that was uncomfortable too! I stood in the bedroom for about another 20 mins with contractions every 3 mins and Rachael could see I was in agony and suggested we make r way back to hospital!
She rang triage but they wanted to talk to me but I couldnt talk through contractions and the midwife on the phone just told rach to bring me in as she could here me struggling with the pain!
Rachael then tried to help me get ready but I just wouldnt cooperate lol then all of a sudden I felt it! That almighty urge to push! All hell broke loose at that point! Rachael sprang into action again lol ripped my knickers off got me on the bed! Was actually well prepared to because I was laid on pads lol she then rang an ambulance while I tried not push!
The operator was telling rachael what to do and I was told I should push if I need to but I just couldnt even though the urge was there with every contraction! A min apart by now! Rach rushed to get towels and stuff while we waited for paramedics which seemed to take dorever but was only a few mins I think! Finally they came equiped with gas and air lol my saviour!
Rach got on the bed next to me and held my hand while I pushed with all my might! 3 big pushes and Evie was delivered by the female paramedic who also got splattered with the force of the rest of my waters following! Was absolutly shocked when Rach told me we had a girl
I was in total shock at what just happend!!!! I still cannot belive it now!!!
Evie was left attached to me while we waited for the on call midwife who turned out to be my community midwife which was lovely! She delivered the placenta and checked me over and said I could stay at home as I only had a graze and while this was happening Evie was feeding quite happily! I was very suprised as I said I wouldnt breast feed! Then the midwife weighed and measured Evie! She was 7lb5oz 34cm head and 51cm length
Was lovely to relax and have a shower in my own shower I got dressed and just relaxed while rachael tiedied up my bed did get slightly wet and ruined the mattress protector that was on! Lol
The events were such a shock and I dont think that a planned homebirth would have turned out like it did but we r happy

I had an impromptu home birth too and agree, having a shower in your own shower after is amazing!
