Quick question. I know you put them up onto your cervix before bed from 37 weeks, but can you take them orally before that? does it have any effect at all?
Here we go.........so are they not best to take orally as I've just found out with the whole semen thing!! Evie I think it's just the normal oral ones you can shove up your foof! I tell ya, we're obsessed with putting odd things in random places aren't we??!!
There was a really good thread on this a while back with info on evening primrose oil and raspberry leaf tea, although the latter you definitely only take orally!!!! link is below... merv's mum is the expert
"Evening primrose oil is an excellent source of prostaglandins, which we already determined readies your cervix for labor. It can be taken orally as soon as 34 weeks, and can be applied directly to the cervix at full term (36 weeks). The general recommendation is two 500mg capsules per day until week 38, at which time you increase to 3-4 per day. The entire capsule can be inserted vaginally (inserted just before bed, it will dissolve before the first time you wake to use the bathroom), or you can use the oil on your fingers for your perineal massage, then also rub on your cervix (assuming you can reach it). Applying directly to the cervix is optimal, but the beneficial ingredients are absorbed through the external skin or the stomach also."
hmm, cant image it would do much harm but I dunno, Im not gonna use them twice a day cos Id worry it would fall out while Im out shopping or something!!
well this thread has certainly oped my eyes haha!! And I thought everyone could reach their cervix?? I can that's how I could tell oh these aren't just braxton hicks I'm in labour i'm going to hosp time haha!! X
