to girls that have had the epidural, did you get any side effects after having one? Just curious thanks

No side effects at all. But it was bloody brilliant!! Xxx

Nope - so happy I had one!

I had difficulties with my labour I'm not sure the epidural was to blame as I had pre eclampsia too I was numb for a while afterwards but I'm still here to tell the tale ;) x

No side effects x

Mum of Owen. Born 11/7/11 @ 19.17pm weighing 7lb 12 oz :)

I had none :) tbh was the best thing about my horrific labour was my epi! Obviously apart from DS! Lol xx

Larny & Hayden taptalking away :D

I definitely will not rule it out....still thinking I can pop my baby out with gas and air lol I know it can be done but won't be cutting my nose off to spite my face!!

Good luck for your birth hon, so close now :) xxx

I was thinking about side effects of one of these the other day!, but my motto for having one is..The less i feel the better , but now i know theres no side effects im definitely convinced about having one when the time comes :D

I def think that too now lol!!!! x

Iv never had one but from the other side I did it with gas and air and think having that control was amazing, I pushed when I wanted to push, I sat how I wanted to sit and as soon as I had my lo I was up and about sorting lo, ready for visitors. I can imagin no pain is nice but I loved having the control.

I had my epi turned down near the end so I could move and feel the urge to push when it came. I could also walk about really soon after so you can have the best of both worlds.
Some hospitals offer a mobile or walking epi, this means you still have movement and feeling in your legs x

Fabulous!! I wanted to do the whole natural thing but after 48 hours I couldnt have cared less about doing it naturally!! I have a slight back ache were the epi was put in but that is coz the anesthetist mucked mine up and hit a bone!
xxxx

No side effects for me either and fully intend to have one next time. It allowed me to enjoy my labour and I could still feel when to push because they let it wear off a lot at the end.

I didnt have any side effects straight away, but after 2 epidurals and a spinal i suffer with terrible back pain (which started after my first epidural 12yrs ago) and my right leg goes numb sometimes!

But it was a brilliant thing at the time the relief from the pain was amazing xx

My right leg was completely dead for 24 hours after and I got really bad back ache for about 3 months. I expected the backache and I think the problem with my right leg was I was so exhausted after nearly 40 hours on my feet with no sleep, food or drink I may have pressed the button a few too many times.
I would have one again but my OH would be under strict instructions to not let me touch the button!!! Lol

I HAVEN'T AND MY FIRST NATURAL BIRTH WAS HORRIBLE.

THEN I HAD A BREAK THROUGH WITH SOMETHING CALLED LABORAIDE.

DIDN'T EVEN NEED AN EPIDURAL!

BUT THAT IS JUST ME.

Hi, the only thing I hated about the epidural was I was cathertarised for 24 hours after as you lose the feeling in your lower reigons and I had a sore back from where they had put the epidural in!! I didn't want one to be honest, and I hope I don't have to have another one I found it really upsetting, but it does stop the pain instantly and makes labour a lot easier.. !!!

I loved my epidural. I had mobile one so could top up myself and could move etc.
They did put catheter in while i had it but i couldnt feel anything and they took it away straight after.
It worked really well for me and i would do it again if i had a choice

Tapatalking so cant see signatures
