Hi Girls,

As you may or may not know we are awaiting our 2nd ICSI attempt and in the meantime we are trying to get as healthy and as primed as possible.

We are having ICSI due to male factor, low morph, low numbers etc

Our first ICSI was unsuccessful, only two made it to blast, one not great quality and had nothing to freeze and it ended with a BFN

The embryologist did say that some of the eggs werent of great quality with some thickened Zona?

So hubby and I are on a mission, he is currently on Smoothies with maca, spirulina, acai berry, whey, rice milk and bluberries alongside his wellman, folic acid 5mg, Vit C 500 and fish oil supp.

I have a smoothie each morning with a matt dawson super green powder, I am doing 5:2 eating and I also have folic acid, wellwoman, Vit C 500, fish oil and I also have CoEnzyme 10 I think 120mgs

Anything else anyone knows of that could help ??
xx

Hi Sarah, I take Zinc with Vitamin C and I also take Vitamin D in the evenings, I'm also taking Magnesium as I thought it had increased my egg white .

I'm stepping up on this for the next cycle too as I'm sure they're going to say that this BFN was because of poor quality. Your smoothies sound lovely and looks like you're already doing a good job Sarah. I only took CoQ10 and Omega 3 with DHEA extra and I started very late with that so was pretty pointless really haha. Clementine did you get OH to take zinc as well? Xx

Just me on the zinc but I think it's also supposed to be good for the guys, my DH won't take any vitamins, I tried him on one of the Men's Vitamins and he felt sick every day so now Vitamin C is the only thing he takes but I'm trying to eat lots of veg with dinner so he gets some healthy stuff :-)

I'm 1dpo this cycle so I'm only starting co enzyme Q10 now as Dee said it's supposed to be good for egg quality, so if this cycle doesn't work Im ready for the next cycle.

thanks girls, it looks like we are all fingers crossed on track to hopefully help our eggies out x
Lou I am so sorry about your bfn its so hard xxx

Thanks Sarah it is heartbreaking. DH is keen to try for a natural BFP in the meantime, so will be starting our quest for healthy embies ASAP. I was looking at those nutribullets yesterday but not too sure what the difference is between them and a much cheaper smoothie maker x

And he is right hon, give yourself time to get back on track as it does knock the stuffing out of you but defo move forward with going all Natural :-)
Thats what we are doing, a small percent chance is still and chance and I have started reading the book that Stace was reading and its really good!
I have seen them as well? I think someone was saying to me it keeps all the pulp and stuff but I would be all gagging at that haha ! we have a kenwood smoothie maker which has travel mugs which is good x

That book is called Trying to get pregnant (and succeding) something like that, I have started to have a read and I like its process, turning negative thoughts into positive x

It doesn't look very appealing on the TV demo either haha. I have just realised I already have a Kenwood Smoothie maker all boxed up on the top of the kitchen cabinets!! How rubbish am I....haha. I will have a look for that book, sounds good x

I read that book last year... and re reading the sections that apply to ivf now. Its full of optimism and interesting stories too. I think it was recommended on here by timtam who also got her bfp and I managed to get a used signed copy on amazon for 1p plus p&p! Good luck girls xx

I have broken the rules ;-p I have been reading that book and decided that I am going to be pregnant therefore I need to actively look at baby things and I have therefore at lunchtime been looking a prams that I like ! crazy woman :-)

There's no mention of purchasing a pram yet in the book haha but def says a small purchase helps.. like booties :) keeping your eye on the prize! Hope you enjoyed practicing your baby shopping ;) xx

haha i haven't gone totally crazy like buying the pram its when she said don't avoid baby aisles or looking at baby bits, plan your nursery, picture it all etc and I've never allowed myself to do that until now :-)

Sarah you're not alone. I do that ALL the time. I have a pin interest board full of baby and nursery stuff that I like haha. I nearly went into Mamas and Papas the other week as they had a closing down sale and I had a really big urge to go and look at the prams but I thought that may be a step too far haha.

kkheartsbaby you got a massive bargain there! I've not seen it any cheaper than £20!

I've also bought the Kindle version this week on amazon £7.99 Staces13 should be getting commission as her bfp this week as propelled me into positive thinking overdrive :-)

I've also got my 120 high strength Coenzyme Q10 Euro24.95 for 30 which seems very expensive and I've convinced my hubby to take them as well as zinc.

I haven't looked at anything baby related the furthest I got to picturing me having a baby is choosing a name, my family is super superstitious so even if I get a bfp I'm not allowed to buy anything before they're born bar nappies, baby grows, bottles and dummies :-)

I must admit though everytime I see the advert on TV were the babies are laughing it makes me smile and wish I had a baby :-)

Oh clementine me too :-)

I have the coenzyme 120 and it was about £22 so similar prices x

We have strong boys name & girls just nearly there :-) could you get someone to sneak you some baby socks :-)

The book is fab, no more "trying" for a baby we are all making a baby, we are already mums, takes all the negative words associated with it all & turns to positive, it feels nice thinking that way x

I just watched the opening scene to look who's talking I had forgotten how funny it was and how relevant it is now he he x

My book has arrived too! It's on the bedside table along with my yet unread 50 shades of grey! Interesting baby making reading ahead!! I've got a house full of baby stuff, can't say it's helped me much, maybe I should set the cot back up and freak out hubby once and for all! X

So from now on we're not TTC we're MAB (making a baby)

so the let the MABing commence :bd:

I'm currently visualising a super strong sperm :sperm: burrowing his way into my healthy egg :egg: - hopefully they having a fun journey down my fallopian tube - my husband is getting worried with all this positive talk !! :bedjump:

I think if I arrived home with baby clothes :hang: he'd think I'd finally flipped :-)

:pompom:

exactly that we are all succeeding in MAB :-)
super strong eggs, super strong spermies getting all nice and comfy :))
my hubby is that same lol thinks I'm barmy ha ha x
