eeeeeeekkk!

oh ok never had any other op apart from the emergency c-section. Cool shall be interesting then. x

i had my mrsa swabs the other day, the throat one is horrible!

i have to to go 48 hours before the op for some medication, then go in on the day at 7am. still waiting for the final date! xxx

ours is exactly a week before I go in and we are told then what time to go in on the day. The woman that booked it said the anesthetist would come and speak to us and so would the consultant but didn't say what else would happen. x

You won't have a pad, you'll be naked under a hosp gown with the disposable mats (you can buy for your bed incase your waters go) on your bed. The epi will wear off within a few hours your just not allowed to get up.

whaaat so we just lay there and bleed on the mats ?? :s

If you had a pad on they'd have to roll you to change it and it would hurt like hell I would imagine. Although you do bleed I've been told it's less with a c-section

Yup! I really didn't care but I'd been in the hospital for 4 days before :| they may've put one there sort of wedged but I can't remember. when they take the catheter out you'll be in pads and there wasn't much of a problem.

ok well im sure whatever they do i actually wont care when i have my baby to look at !!!

thanks ladies xxxxx

I had a planned c-section as DD was breech and found it to be a really positive experience. Although only got two days notice! I just turned up at the hospital for 7:30am and by 11:40 we had a baby girl. The whole thing was lovely and a really nice relaxed way to have LO. Both hubby and I would choose this way again, althoguh it would be nice to have one contraction at some point if we have another one.

Was really lucky on the healing front and did find some of it mind over matter though. I was in hospital for two nights but both those nights I did everything for my baby, just made full use of the adjustable bed to help me get from laying to sitting and also for the height to get DD out the cot. I wanted to be the one to do everything for my baby. The only time I pressed the bell for the nurse was to empty my catheter bag as it was so full it was too heavy to lift!

Within 6 hours after the section I was up having a wash, with hubby's help, as I felt so minging and just wanted to get moving (as soon as I could feel my legs again that is!) and get in a clean night dress and some pants, not just a pad wedged between my legs.

I was out the house and at coffee morning when DD was 6 days old, at my first baby group when LO was 11 days old and driving at 4 weeks.

I just did things as and when I felt like it and if I was tired or in pain, I did not do anything, when I was feeling good I got on with stuff. All I made sure I did not over do it with was lifting and stretching.

wow hesty thanks alot for that message sounds like you had a really positive experience !!!

ive had two big operations before and i healed really well from both of them quickly so im hoping its the same again. and yes im planning on trying to do what i can but not push myself, im nervous but so so excited and when i hear stories like yours it makes me feel very calm!!!

xxxxx
