Early scan info please...

I had a couple of TV scans and they've been fine. You have a sheet over your legs so youre covered up and once its in you really don't notice. I had an early scan last pregnancy and 8+3 and it was fine abdominal but had one at 7+2 this time and was TV. Either way you'll be fine! They're really professional xx

Ive realised I'm not as far on as I thought so it probably will be more 7 weeks than 8. Its made me a bit gutted/uneasy/worried that Im less than thought, so now I don't care as much if its vaginal.

If I see a heartbeat Ill be fine lol. My last mc was at 9 weeks (before dd) so I know from having DD that I wont settle until Im past 9. (stupid I know) Thanks for the experiences and advice. I don't feel as nervous now. x

I don't think a private scanning place would do internal. I've had a scan on the NHS at 7 weeks and it was abdominal. If you're unsure wait until 8 weeks x

All the ones I've researched around here do both, depending on need.

Really this early you want a vaginal one. They can see so much clearly! With Scarlett, had a vaginal one at 7+2 was perfect... Had another at 8 weeks was abdo and she was measuring 7+3 or something. I had a breakdown. Went for a scan the next day and she was measuring right again! X

Thanks PeanutButter I think I'm over being nervous about it, I just want reassurance more. Especially now I'm earlier than thought. I'd def rather get the right info than risk an abdo that's not as clear and freak out lol x

I can totally understand that, I really want to have an early scan too but I'm only 4+5 so trying to hold off until I'm 7/8 weeks otherwise I'm not sure what they will see?

Hi Ladies - just wanted to update following my experience of an early scan yesterday. My doctor thought I was 8 weeks today, I thought 7, so I booked a clinic who did abdo and TV to be on the safe side! When I got there they said they'd try abdo first and if that didn't pick up anything then they'd go to TV. I was measuring 6+6 yesterday so tallied with my dates and we could clearly see bean and heartbeat on an abdominal scan, so no need for TV!

I've booked in for a early scan on 25th Nov. I'll be 8 weeks & 5 days.

its a private reassurance scan which costs £40. I had one before with my last baby.

once I see a normal heart beat I will relax so its defo worth it!

I was told from 7 weeks it will be a normal belly scan.
