Has anyone had an early scan at around this time? I'm having one on Saturday and wanted to know what to expect.

I had one around that with my first pregnancy, about 8 or just 9 weeks. It was in another country though. And it was an internal one as apparently I wasn't enough far gone for the external one. It was still quite amazing though, saw a little heartbeat. Apart from them putting a vibrator type of thingy up there (tmi)

You will probably be given an internal scan, and baby will look like a little prawn and be just over 1cm  I had 3 early ones, and I found them fascinating.. A heartbeat should be visable around this time too, as long as you havnt ovulated late or anything.. Good luck and enjoy :yay: x

i had one about the same weeks as you will be it wasnt internal, i seen the heart beat the baby was tiny the egg sack was loads bigger i said 2 the midwife is that the baby she was like no thats the egg sack the baby is the tiny thing next 2 it lol. How come you are having an early scan just 2 put your mind at rest? i know you have put in past posts that you were gunna wait xxxxx

I was going to wait but it's only £50 so thought it was worth it. I hope it is external- don't fancy an internal one if poss.

I had an external one at this time, it really does depend on the scanner but if it's a private scan it should be ace :yay:

Bubs will be small but you should see its little HB

im having one next thurs and will be about the same as u when u have yours so im keen to know how it goes i had a 6wk one with my daughter and just saw a winy dot with a heart beat lol i always had internal scans early because im a bit overweight and she couldnt see externally

Ooo £50? That sounds quite reasonable, will keep that in my mind! Good luck with the scan babe!

i had one, it was internal, at almost 8weeks. they showed me the heartbeat and it was soo cool.
good luck, enjoy it.
xxx

I'm 5ft1 and a size 14 so hopefully not too big for them not to do an external but we'll see. X

Private companies tend to not do internals.

I had one at 7+2 and saw a HB but dont fret if you dont :)

Lovely thanks. They did say that they'd only do an internal if it was impractical (i.e. the mum is too big) to do an external one but like you say, at 7+4 I should be ok.

Can't wait to see/hear a heartbeat.

ooooo i'm jealous, want one!!!! Good luck hun, if you get to see bubba and get a picture you'll have to post it :)

They give you photos and a DVD but to be honest, I'm guessing there won't be much to see as I'll only be 7+4

Thats great that you're going on Sat, hope its great! I've booked one for next Sat. Please let me know how it goes :) Are you going to the one I told you about? x x

Ooooh i bet your well excited...Belive me there is NO feeling on this earth like when you see that heartbeat for the first time! :cloud9: Today in our scan room...My Mum cried, Andys jaw dropped then the biggest smile ever spread over his face and me..well me been me i just kinda laughed nervously and of course gave a big sigh of relife!!! Ohhh good luck!!! Oh and btw the internal if needed really is nothing to worry about at all you hardley feel a thing, i had one with my first scan at 4 and half weeks :)
