I've booked my doctors appointment for next Tuesday.

My doctor was the best doctor ever but he got himself in a spot of trouble and isn't allowed to practise anymore - he was my doctor since I was a bean in mummys tummy!

Now I have a problem in that my surgery haven't replaced my doctor yet so I tried to see my dads doctor - but she isn't in on the morning I have off work,

I am now booked in to see the locum doctor and I'm really worried about it,
From past experiences when I've suffered with tonsilitus they seem really reluctant to actually do anything and I have always had to go back to see another doctor.

Should I cancel this appointment and just wait until a doctor I know is available? I asked if they have anyone that specialises in fertility but I got told they are all able to talk about it.

I don't know what to do?!
What would you do - take the appointment anyway or ring back tomorrow and see if someone else is available?

I also want them to check my cervix but I don't want a locum male doctor poking about inside me really.

Sorry to hear about your doctor :hugs:

Maybe you could book an additional appointment with your dads doctor or something just in case you don't get anywhere with the locum?

Thats what I thought of doing but she doesn't start work until 10am and I can't take time off of work

I might be able to jiggle things around at work though so that I can start early and then finish early and see if that can get me an appointment with her,

I am probably worrying about nothing but now I've gone over the 12 month mark I don't really want to waste anymore time - and the reason I'm waiting until next week is because I have a strange lump on my cervix which I was previously told not to worry about by the nurse at my smear
but now I'm concerned that it has something to do with sperm not being able to get into me
The nurse just said it was a little bit inside out? ALthough I can't find anything on the internet to read up on it at all.

See if you can jiggle things around, you will have peace of mind then from going to the doctors otherwise your worry more & will cause more stress for you hun :hugs:

Don't ever think it's nothing either my lovely & don't let the doctors fob you off, least if tests can be done it can start the ball rolling

We are all here for you

Hi Bonny,

What I would suggest is go anyway to the appointment and get the ball rolling, if you are to get referred then there are a series of tests the Doctors have to do before you get referred.

I'm sure if you explain to the locum your situation they will get you booked in for the necessary tests, you could then ask to see your preferred Doctor with the results.

Have a look at the NHS fertility guidelines, this is helpful-

Hope it goes ok..

Thanks girls - I'm going to speak to my boss and see if I can swop my hours around and change the doctor that I'm seeing.

Fingers crossed x x x

Hey Bonny, it sounds like a polyp, think they are quite common and not harmful (worked in a clinic doing smears for a while) if the nurse said it was nothing to worry about then i'm sure that the case, she would have said straight away if she thought it was harmful

Hope the doctors goes well.

She said it was my cervix that was inside out a little bit - not sure if this would be the same as a polyp?

Also it is more noticeable when I am fertile - When my cervix opens the bumps come up and feel about pea size. I don't have a distinct open feeling to my cervix - Which is why I now think that it might be blocking the sperm from being able to get in through my cervix in the first place,

Trying to ring the doctors for the last 2 hours and I swear they have taken the phones of the hook - constantly engaged!!!

Finally got through to the doctors and spoke to a lovely receptionist - she changed my appointment over to see a female doctor at a time that was great for me!

Can't wait to go and get things moving now, hubby is also going to see his doctor next week too.

Thanks! I wish it was today though!! I hate waiting for anything and always get nervous and worked up about it!

I just hope the next week goes quickly and that I keep myself busy enough not to be worrying about it!

Great news you got an appointment and with a lady doctor.

Try not to worry about the appointment hun I know easier said then done (been there done it) but they should start the ball rolling for you and one step closer to your bfp x x

Aw hun glad to hear you've got an appt and with a lady doc. FX it's going to bring you ever closer to your bfp xxxxx

Hey Bonny

I was just thinking about you on the train, how did your doctors appointment go yesterday?

I hope it was ok :hugs:

Appointment was fab! - I did a post in Long Term TTC too!
The thing with my cervix is nothing to worry about - although I cant remember what its called - something that begins with E - but it is basically the inside of my cervix growing on the outside - it can cause pain and bleeding but until that happens then I don't have to worry about it - It can be lasered off if needs be, and it will probably get worse when I get PG due to the increase in hormones!

I am now awaiting blood tests - I don't have to have a scan as I had one less than 18 months ago.

Bloods are to check OV and to check my thyroid.

I need to put on weight too - BMI of 17 - need to get up to around 19 but she would prefer if it was 20-21

Thanks for thinking of me hun - its a nice feeling and has put a smile on my face!
